Model Reviewed: S8L7

Strength:

Take up very little room for the boom. Cheap on ebay. Rarely bottom out. People think you have 10's or 12's.

Weakness:

Won't resonate and hit as low as 12's, but will shake the stink out of you, and still be really loud.

I'll start with my setup. Pioneer DEH-P9300 head unit, MTX amp to Infinity Reference 6.5", JBL BP-1200.1 amp with 4 gauge wires, 2 Kicker S8L7's. I am running this in my single cab Tacoma. Custom made boxes accomodate the two 8's into the thin gap right behind my seat. I will tell you what, these bump bumps out-do almost all my friends subs. My amp is turned almost all the way down, and boooooooom. They are super clean (good sq) because of the small size, and have great spl. I set off car alarms driving through my colleges parking lot and when driving down the main street in my city. My neighbor makes me turn my system down when i bump it too loud. I play rap, metal, country, rock, and these subs work with them all. I wish I had room and I would put both these subs into a bigger boxes or a bandpass box, and watch out. Don't mess if you pull up next to me. I love it when people slowly pull aside me and give me dirty looks when i turn the volume up a little. If you don't have much room, get the S8L7's, if you have room, get the S12L7's. My friend has those and I can hear them when he drives by me on the highway!

Similar Products Used:

Two 8's are comparable to my friends single JL 12W6. JBL LC 10's (suck), JBL GT 12(sucks). Audiobahn Piston sub 10" (horrible). S10L7 in a bandpass box (wow, when i have a bigger truck, the S8L7's will go perfect with me S10L7). I hooked the 10 in the bandpass plus my 8's and my friend down the street said his garage door was rattling!
