Strength:

Trust me I know with eight of these powered with two JBL BP1200.1 will have an SPL of 168-173 decibels. This subwoofer is the best bass sound I ever heard as of right now. It sounds more like "pro subs" that are used in live sound. This subwoofer has a very cheap price. Dallas Pro Mobile Mechanic

Strength:

-- Achieves loud bass easily
-- Tight bass
-- Produces bass you FEEL
-- Looks

Weakness:

-- Aren't more made

If you want a durable, loud, quality sub that'll most definatly fill any vehicle up, choose this! I got this one for $65 because the employee at the store was a dumba$$, and gave me the wrong one. I have a Ford Ranger and it was the best investment I've ever made...I have no regrets. This also doesn't require a large box or anything, either

Strength:

Small .67 cu.ft. Qlogic enclosure. Lots of tight bass, still room for groceries. Rugged design.

Weakness:

Can get some distortion with really high volume, low bass tracks.

I would recomment this sub to anyone needing accurate bass and without the space. Kickers are famous for providing big bass from a small enclosure. They have a very good design and build quality which makes this possible. They also cost half of what the same size kicker solobaric costs with close to the same output.

MTX 10 inch gold series. Powerful but doesn't sound as hard hitting from the drivers seat.

Strength:

Tight sound, Excellent Frequency response and range, Good power handling. Well made

Weakness:

Spade Terminal connections, Not available in DVC or 2ohm, Kickers Internet Sales Policy. Cork gasket.

I got an MTX Thunderform for my truck, it came with a Thunder 6000 10. The Thunderform is 1.1cft (the upper end for the Thunder 6000 sub). It had a ton of low boomy bass, but the upper bass from 50 - 80hz just wasn't there. I researched the kicker and found that my box was right in the middle of its specs.

I went to my local shop and they let me try the CompVR in my truck to see how I liked the sound. Which is why I paid a little more for it, the service was worth the extra $$. It was amazing! I had to give up just a little volume and "boom" on the lower frequencies, but the kicker sounds much better for the music I listen to (rock). It has nice tight bass from the 80hz crossover point all the way down. Very smooth sounding and nicely constructed. I don't like the cheap cork looking gasket material or the spade terminal connections, but they are functional and don't detract from the subs performance. The cone and surround are double stitched which looks pretty impressive, but the other 10's I have had were molded as one piece. I wish they made the CompVR in 2 ohm or dual voice coil 4 ohm.

It requires a larger box than most other 10's, but that is the reason I wanted it. Could be a big negative for someone with a smaller area to work with.

Similar Products Used:

MTX Thunder 6000, Infinity Kappa 100.1se - It has a much better sound than the MTX in the same enclosure. Produces frequencies below 50Hz better than the Infinity. Built better than the MTX, not built as well as the Infinity

Strength:

price, good deep and hard hitting bass, good sound quality

Weakness:

distortion at high volume, doesn't quite do too well over the high bass end

Ok, When i first heard these things at the store, they sounded pretty good. They were badly cased though. After installing them, I realized these were really good subwoofers. They really hit on the low end. Only problem I found was that it wasn't quite as good on the high end, and yes they do distort a tiny bit when u get that volume high. But all-in all,a good sound and the new technology works great. I have three of them installed with a sony 2252 amp running them at about 200 a piece in a sealed box. It's a good amount to put into em, and they don't even close to sweat over the power.

Similar Products Used:

Image Dynamics-IDQ10:these have higher sound quality but there's more SPL on kickers; JL-W3's- good sound, louder, but more expensive and not as much sound quality and JL-W0's- can't compare to Kickers(overrated)
