Strength:

Hit hard and sound great

Weakness:

My Pioneer stereo goes up to 62, I have never turned it over 40 and I blew one of my Subs. I took it back and they replaced it but gave me a hard time. I asked him how loud I can go with them and he said I can crank it all the way up. Hard to believe

First system Ive ever had. Spent a total of around $2200.00 I'm happy with it.

2x 12" CRV in I believe it would be considered a ported box (Big hole in the side)

750.1 Kicker Amp powering the subs

4x KS60 (I think) tweets inside

MTX Amp powering the 4 tweeters (Kicker Amp way better then the MTX, I live in Arizona and the MTX always over heats while the kicker has never over heated yet) Not sure on the specs of it.

Overall I recommend these Comp VR's they sound nice and definitely rattle the ship out of my trunk and brain. If you drive a Ford Taurus you will want to invest in some DynoMat which is my next buy to shut my rattles up.

Strength:

They're very loud and can take alot of power. and sound loud in sealed boxes.

Weakness:

none at all, i cant complain about this sub.

These are some of the loudest most intense subs i've heard. Now i've been using this line of kicker since they started with this line-up. They're extremly loud!! i put one in a 1995 chev corvetta and it bumped hard my ears were hurting with so much bass. just off 200 @ 1ohm. you can't go wrong with these subs. i recommend to anyone who wants ear popping mind blowing bass! very good buy.

the older compVR subs, i've used JL, sony, rockford fosgate subs. but still dont compare to these!!

Strength:

good price, take lots of abuse.

Weakness:

2 12's are too loud for my taste in the civic's tiny interior haha

i bought 2 12 CVRs and they hit pretty hard, i have them hooked up to a mono channel 1000 kenwood amp to make the install easy for my lazy ass. i have a q-logic box that has a sealable port so when i feel like listening to rock i just seal it up, but the things hit so damn hard it doesnt really matter if i have it sealed when i listen to deep bass. the only thing is that you have to really play with the amps settings to get them to sound just right haha

Strength:

pounds like a freakin jackhammer, with just as much annoyance

Weakness:

sound horrible, at speed, extremely boomy, you;d better have a pair of 8's running also to catch what these miss... or get a better sub and catch it all

these are the slowest reacting subs i've ever used, they have a disgusting amount of boominess under 60 hz, trying to get and kind of kick drum hit is impossible.. if you listen to rap or rock they are OKAY, but not nearly as good as the JL 12w04 that it replaced (and my JL lasted TEN YEARS!!) basically i listen to alot of ( and make it also, so i'm no idiot in the audio department, in case you're wondering) electronica and drum and bass, and these subs just can't keep up, i paid 100.00 to my cousin for these things, 2 of them in a ported kicker made box.... and they sound horrible, so i put one in a ported box, still crappy, sealed box, still crappy, bandpass box, still crappy... anyway, i'll be giving them back to him this weekend and buying two JL's again... so, in summary, if your a basshead and not interested in real sound quality and just want your ears to bleed, these'll do the trick, if you want TIGHT BASS and kick, get JL... or JBL if you're more into rock or country.. had two of those a while back... there is a reason concert halls use JBL!!!

yeah i got 4 cvr12s in a custom box and a bx1500d hifonics amp and a 8100pioneer head unit with 0 guage power wire and 12 guage speaker wire running at less then 1 ohm with 2 optima yellow top batterys with an 140 amp alternator and four 5x7 pioneer silver series highs. I hit an average of 152.6 dbs at a comp and depending on the song hits harder.

Strength:

sound, looks, nothing to complain about except for the speed

Weakness:

sensitivity

a lot of guy here are tlaking about the high power that they put to these subs, which sometimes isnt needed. i have an eclipse head unit with a 200.2 eclipse amp, running 2 2004 kicker comp VR's in a 1.12 CFS sealed box, and i hit a 142.7 at a db competition, hitting very low at 46DB. for that amout of watts, the comps are just at their continuous. these subs hit hard. i had a choice between these, alpine type S, and diamond audio CM3's. the comps won the battle, but im not happy with the sensitivity rating. when listening to techno, you can actually hear a delay between when the bass is supposed to hit in the highs, and when the subs actually kick in. i will be replacing the subs in a few months with diamond audio M6's, and a phoenix gold 600.2 amp
