Lanzar NEO10 Subwoofers

Lanzar NEO10 Subwoofers

DESCRIPTION

Neodymium magnets have long been reconized as offering a vary high strength-to-weight ratio, but their high cost has led most manufacturers to limit the application of neodymium magnets to small, high power tweeters. With new production and manufacturing methods, Lanzar is now able to offer an entire line of speakers with neodymium magnets at an amazingly affordable price. Since these magnets are more then 10 times more powerful than standard magnets, Lanzar has been able to build Neo speakers with much smaller magnets, resulting in a lighter speaker with a shallow mounting depth. An added benefit is that neodymium magnets provide faster bass response, with lower overall distortion.

  • 200 Watts RMS Power
  • 400 Watts Peak
  • Frequency Response: 30Hz-3kHz
  • High Density Neodymium Magnet
  • Impedance 4 Ohm

Strength:

A small light illuminates and flashes on the console where the overhead lights are located - silly place - and I get a steady light on the dashboard console. Personally I think that these are the wrong way around. Someone else mentioned the suspension. semi truck air brake service

Strength:

ultra light weight (think power to weight!) good sound quality, cheap, small enclosures, be different!

Weakness:

wont blow the windscreen out! not for the heavymetal crew!

thought i would give this sub a try as it was cheap and i was waiting for the custom box being built for my opti 122d sub to be completed. to cut a long story short, the big sub and box never got installed! i fabricated a tiny box (.30 cu ft) to fit super stealth where the tool tray lived in my jdm pulsar gtir. driven by two bridged channels from a lanzar opti 4100d full range mini digital amp ( 360watts approx max) and with a +8db tweak at 40hz on my pioneer deq 9200 dsp equilizer this tiny combo kicked! a check with autosound 2000 test cd and a radio shack level meter revealed an excellent extention down to 30hz with a gentle peak at an ideal 55hz. the upper end tailed off above 70hz but was easily integrated into the mid bass with a little tweakery on the deq and careful measurement. max spl on the meter without trying to kill the little fella was 122db. not much but plenty to add reinforcement to a wide variety of musical styles and overcome road noise in my raucus rally machine. the huge advantage of this set up and the reason it has remained in situ for the past 2 years is its only added a handful of extra kilos to my very weight conscious car. neodymium magnet subs should be the option of choice to all enthusiasts who prize power to weight above spl! incidentally, the neo 10 sounds smooth and tight and would probably perform even better in a slightl larger (say, .45 cu ft) enclosure. im even thinking of tracking down a second one for a super light install in my next project!

Strength:

Very shallow depth. Handles above rated power. Light weight. Very unique and cool looking. Above average sound quality. Great value.

Weakness:

Excursion is limited.

I picked up a pair of these for $48 shipped on ebay. I actually intended to resell them, but I was so curious about them that I had to try them. I was sure that a 3" deep sub with only 4 mm x-max (one-way linear excursion) would be pathetic. Well, I guess I'm not always right. While not earth shattering, they can go pretty loud( I used them in a .5 cubic ft/chamber sealed box) and the sound quality shames most expensive subs. They do lack the lowest notes(at least in this box) but they handle power well. I was pushing them with about 300 watts each from a RF Punch amp and they took it well unless you played a bass CD at high volume.
