I have 2 12" pro series in a ported box. I''m running a Rockford Fosgate 1000.1 and it pounds. I have not heard any better sounding sub out there and for the money it was a great buy

Model Reviewed: i got them in 2002, mmats pro audio 12"

Strength:

can''t complain at all. good value, hit hard when someone asks, "what kind of subs do you have?" and you reply, "mmats", they have no clue.

Weakness:

If you looked at one in the store, you would say this sub looks like a piece of crap, but don''t be fooled. Personally, I,m picky when it comes to sound quality. These subs are great for bass, but need a good mid-bass speaker.

I just got 2 mmats pro 12s today. If you are shopping for subs, look no further (that is, if you have a real amp to push them). I got out of my car an hour ago, my ears are still ringing. I''m currently running them off a fosgate 800a2 amp, in a ported box (The box was included @ $400). I''m afraid to see what these subs do in a sealed box (I will let you know when I try it).

unrelentless power , deep deep bass.at any level any type of music

Weakness:

need proper set up (like anything)and lots of power

getting into car audio again after 5 years i was unfamiliar with the names i purchased a sony es 4 channel amp es deck and es 6x9 with a memphis 12 sub. this ok for about 2 days, i wanted more bass.even if i didnt use it i wanted reserves. they told me (gemmas audio) that mmats was one of the best subs out so in went two pro 12"s driven by a mmats d100 amp in parralel at 1 ohm. in sealed enclosures made by them at 1.67cu " they the ran my sony amp in 2 channel mode driving two pairs of canton 6.5 components in the doors (custom installed to fit in my 02 dodge standard cab truck) i only need half volume at the most , these subs will distort your vision under half power. it is entirely too loud at full volume, the headaches feel like hangovers.with my decks eq i can make the bass tight or boomy to suit any music . icant say if theyre the best but its hard to beleive theres better.they pound.

Strength:

HARD HITTING BASS with no drop off. Plenty of power handling and small enclosure space.

Weakness:

None what-so-ever! I LOVE THEM! THEY KICK SOME SERIOUS BOOTAY!

I was introduced to MMATS in March of 2000. I owned 1 12" and was running it in a sealed box off of a Rockford 800a2 at 800 watts RMS in my Mustang and once I turned it on, I said to myself "Holy S@#$!" I couldn''t believe the bass that was coming out of this sub. Needless to say I cooked the sub and the amp in the matter of 2 months. I then decided to go a step up and purchase 2 12" and drop them into two separate ported boxes for better strength and precise air space. I ran them off of the same Rockford amp after I got it repaired. I turned the system on and rattled the "S@#$!" out of my mustang. Everyone I knew or just people off the street would ask me what kind of subs do I have and I would tell them MMATS. They would be like "What the hell are those. I haven''t heard of them before they must be crap!" Well my friends, when you hit 145.4db with just an 800watt amp and two 12" subs in the trunk of a 95 stang, they certainly cannot be crap. I was going up against people with 2 15" Rockfords and 2 15" CompXs and 2 15" JLw6s and we were a;; coming close to eachother. These subs have alot of power handling at 400watts RMS. They have loud clean bass and they never bottom out. You keep turning them up and they keep on dishing out. The enclosure is small at 0.9c''ft sealed and 1.5c''ft ported. And a dual 4ohm voice coil is also an added benefit. But, I am ready for something a little different. I have now purchased 4 15" MMATS Pro''s but do not yet have them installed. Check Carreview.com for picks around the middle of October for this awsome install. Email me if you have any questions at: peter_provenzano@hotmail.com

Strength:

Surround material, small enclosure, good spl, high power handling, hits hard, DVC.

Weakness:

none so far...wish i had 2 of them instead of 1.

I would most definetly recomend this speaker to anyone. They are loud, hit hard, efficient, etc.... I have 1 12" in a 4runner and it quads nasty... I am thinking of getting another just b/c i am bored of having 1 and b/c my amp can handle it with ease (old school punch 200). If you don't like 12's then get the 10's. They are equally impressive...

JL audio...Both sound great...for the price and power handling i choose the MMATS. I have also heard Solo barics, PPI, JLaudio, MTX, and Fosgate....these are better SQ than than all of them except the jl audio(tie).

i would recomend this product to anyone. I have 4 of them in 2 seperate angle bandpasses hooked up to 2 mmats d300hc's. ya it hits hard. last time i got it db'ed it hit 165.7 very nice sounding to takes your breath away when you sit in the back seat. i cant complain. if your goin to get mmats get them put in a bandpass you wont regret it. I blew one of my boxes already it cracked the plexi gass right in half. i wasnt to happy. but not to many can say there subs broke 1/2in glass.

this is one of the best subs ive ever owned it is extreemly loud but has no distortion

Weakness:

it is a little pricy but if you have the money to spend it is a good speaker

i paid 249.95 and it was worth it but you can get a good sub for a lot less these are more for professional audiofiles

Similar Products Used:

it is a great speaker it is about the same as a w6 12 with better sencitivety so it doesnt take as much power to push

Strength:

LOUD ! ! will definately make you deaf, LOUD LOUDER LOUDEST ! Well maybee not loudest but definately up there. Will thump yer trunk and make yer hair stand on end.

Weakness:

Weak SQ, even from a sealed box, this is a woofer for he (or she) that wants to attract attention to his/her car.

My friend bought 2 12's for his Subaru Legacy at the price of $200 each. They are each in a 1 ft^3 sealed box powered with an MTX amp, (300 watts X2@2 ohm). Man do these things thump HARD! Im not really into SPL but even i enjoyed the annoyed looks of the crowd at the stop light. Never bottoms out, and it actually wants more power too. He's thinking of porting the box for even more output. Nothing ('cept the W6) compare to it in its price range. Definately for the SPL freek. 5 Stars value, 4 stars for performance.

I have pushed 1 12" mmats with a punch 200 and it sounds great. Two would sound better but all i need is one. Fills the car with good quality bass.
My friend has 2 10" and it sounds really good. Very loud!

JL audio. Compares nicely to JL audio. I think they are about equal to the W6. PPI pro seris subs are better than both though. You will spend much more on PPI Pro.
