Strength:

These MTX Thunder 6000's are loud and clear. They are very well, strongly built speakers. They'r looks are awsome, but the performance is what makes these truley good subs. The 6000's throw out loud powerfull clean bass.

Weakness:

The only weaknesses are, they leave you pumped to go out and get more.

I have one 10 in. 6000, in a Q logic small enclosure sealed box. The speaker is being pushed by a Kenwood KAC PS150, 300 watt amp, bridged to 2 ohms. After first installing this speaker I couldn't believe the performance. My one 10 hits like 2 12's. Everybody who hears it is amazed that the little 10'' box slams like it does. There's no sign of any distortion or struggling to hit. I can't wait, to get two more of them.

Similar Products Used:

I've had many different types of 12's. one 12" RF Punch, sounded OK. One JL W 0 12, sounded ok. One Pyle Pro 12, sounded good, hit hard. One Blaupunkt 12" Velocity sounded Ok. The one 10" MTX 6000 sounds awsome. It's smaller than all the rest but hits way harder and sounds so much better.

Model Reviewed: 3 10" Thunder 6000

Strength:

*Strong, Tight bass
*Lound For such a small box
*Sounds good with even low watts into it
*Awesome custom box

Weakness:

*Sometimes can bottom out or distort if amp is low quality
*Small box (good and bad)
*Cannot go very low

I bought these 3 10"s in the custom box with a nice looking plexiglass back panel. I have a crappy amp powering them, only 300 watts into 3 subs, and they can handle 750 watts constant, and 1500 watts peak. I am going to get a new Subaru Impreza WRX and i will custom install them in there, and add a 500 or 600 watt quality amp, and really hear these beasts. I really recommed them, for the price, and the quality is EXCELLENT. Nice rubber surrounds and magnet.

Strength:

This 10" sub has the ability to put out more than encough sound for anyone. And I'm just using a single 10" in a Q-Logic, Q-Custom box ghat goes in the rear door of my 1998 Chevy Suburban. I had to put the base boost at 0db becuase even with the base turned down on my head unit, my system kept right on pounding. I'm using a Kenwood KAC-719 mono subwooer amp, the combination is great. I replaced all other speakers in the vehicle with Kenwood models also, and the are terriffic.

Weakness:

None that I can tell, except may the feeling a deafness I experience when I stop and get out of the car.

There's not much more I can say that I did say in the "Strengths" section. However, I got way more base sound and quality of sound than I expected, and would this system and my 10"Thunder6000 again and again.

I've used self-amped base tubne in the past, and compared to this, they stink.

Strength:

Fairly clean bass for the price.

Weakness:

Have Fosgate 500a2 bridged to mono 4 ohm load pushing 2 8 ohm 10" MTX 600 wired in parallel in a thunderform for full size dodge ram. (hell of a deal at nexxon.com, $244 loaded w/free shipping)
BLEW IN A MONTH AT MODERATE VOLUME!!!

Won't handle 250 RMS for more than an hour.

Nedd something to throw back in my thunderform. Any suggestions???

Strength:

-DEEP HARD-HITTING CLEAR BASS.
-The surround is one of the best i have seen.
-NO distortion even at 75% volume. (Too scared to take them higher)

Weakness:

The tend to loosen various bolts in my car, they also have knocked a few
items off the shelves.

When i purchased this single 12" in an MTX enclosure i was a bet skeptical about the bass reproduction due to the box. Im a firm believer in ANTI-STOCK-BOX using. So when i threw this badboy into the trunk of my tricked out 97' Lumina LTZ and hooked it up to 180watts bridged i was expecting bass cannon bass. What i got was THE BEST BASS i have ever heard.

I had to call up my friend who is running dual Infinity Ref. 10"s at 500Watts totall to show off and poke fun at his pintsized powerhouse.
He drives up and turns off his stereo as mine is still going, he literally thought his was still on due to the bass carrying into his car and vibrating it.

The only thing about these speakers i DO NOT recommend is high volume levels with high watt ratings.
1) You will blow the speaker
2) You will blow an ear-drum.

Strength:

Xtremely Hard hittin
Clear Deep Bass
Sharp looks
High Power Handling
Great Bass Clarity
Loud as all hell!!
Dont Sit on my trunk lol

Weakness:

Well lets say when I parked outside my parents house I decided to crank my deck upto 32 (goes to 50 I dare not do it until i find the remote for my deck otherwise the bass would beat my eardrums like a sledgehammer) at that level the bass shook the floors in my parents house knocked two vases of the windowcills and shook the tools in the garage off their hooks. Total cost of this escapade $340 to replace the vases. Hehe not a weakness but it put a dent in my wallet!

I have two 12" Thunderform in perfect dimension MTX sealed enclosure. Hooked up to a MTX 500D amp. Talk to anyone who lives within about a mile radius, they will all say the same thing, "I hate that f**ker and that damn stereo!" hehe

There's no signs of any distortion or struggling to hit.
Clear and hard hard hard hitting, wouldnt trade em unless I find something better.
I recommend them to any basshead who wants pure and low bass with plenty of kick and loudness. Also anyone with a DEAF wish hehe.

This is just a good quality sub. I am very pleased with the clarity of the bass.

Weakness:

none

I put my 12 in a Nissan Sentra in a sealed box. It sounds excellent and I only have one sub. It does just fine. I'm pumping 375w into it with no problems and no distortion. I am verry happy with this product.

Similar Products Used:

Compared to fosgate these are much clearer at low levels it's a softer smoother bass with little distortion
