Strength:

good lows, decent sq, decent spl

Weakness:

price, durability, frequancy response

They look sweet. hit low notes with authority and cleanliness, other frequancies are not as emphasized. They dont take a lot of power 400 rms max. no more. I like them better than the Infinty Perfect, not as good as W3, and cant touch an Eclipse Aluminum.

Strength:

Durable and a lot of low bass.

Weakness:

NONE

I have two 15" 2002 T8's in a MTX bandpass box with a Thunder 8100D amp. At 349.99 each they are expensive. I live in a town of about 40,000 and nobody can get louder. Worth every penny

Strength:

Loud ass hard hitting bass. Good LOW bass Too.

Weakness:

No weaknesses, I've heard people say bad things about the thunder 8000's but they've got the 12's. I think the 15' sound way better than the 12's.

I got these subs in a 1.5 cu. ft. enclosure. I installed them in my friends sentra and it hits HARD!!! I had a RF power 1000bd amp and I could feel my vocal cords vibrate from the bass. All the parts from the car went lose and everything vibrated in the car. You could hear the bass from 3 blocks away and I was setting car alarms everywhere and I got 2 tickets. I liked these subs a lot so I bought 2 more 15's and 2 MTX81000d amps. When I install the 4 15's I will post another review.

It hits very hard, one of the best ive heard. I dont know what the other reviews that diss on this product are talking about.

The one little weakness I have noticed is there is no deep bass.

Everything so far.People complain about price but any great sub will cost you.I recommend these to anyone who loves bass!

Weakness:

Have heard about supposed weaknesses but have never seen them myself.I've had the same 3 in my truck for a year with no problems

I love these subs. I have three of the 10" models in a 99 Dodge Ram single cab pushed by a Cadence z1200 amp (750 watts rms) and have hit 144db at a competition.I have them in a crappy box that i built myself and they still pound. Can't wait until I get a custom box and bigger amp.

Model Reviewed: 2002/Chrome/12inch 4 ohm

Strength:

Accuracy and product quality. Auto Sound award winner(Wow thats good!) It grunts low and it sings high. 102 double stack magnet begs for lots of power. ALDS venting seems to keep voice coil temps inline. It has amazing bass drum punch. All music sounds excellent from punchy to boomy.

Weakness:

People diss the product without having a clue about what it should be driven with(lots of power by a good amp) or because it is a MTX product. Diss what sucks and praise what is good. Im not fond of the dust cap. Id rather fucntion over form and that cap is definately for looks. The leads from the binding post to the voice coil are a bit cheap. I like copper with a soft plastic coating for good durablity and flexablitly. Oh I cant spell but I listen well. I hear distortion a mile away the same with a rattle. Another review probably in a year. Thanks

Well I can honestly say this sub is accurate. I have it in the recommended 1 foot mdf 3/4" sealed box with a double thick front baffle(I made it). This is Very Tight setup. It is powered by a MTX 8302 (425 watts bridged at 4ohm). I have a Kenwood Z919Mp3 Deck running it all. I listen to eveything from classical to bass music. It may not be the loudest and I havent gone to get the SPL tested, but it sounds amazing and thumps hard enough to give me a headach in 20 minutes. The amp makes all the difference. All my friends say it sounds very clean and any louder would just be a waste. Now I wasnt going for SPL I was going for SQ. People who own Kicker and other good brands have said that my sub setup sounds very good if not better than theirs. I have gone to the drive-in with it to compare it to THX certified theaters an wow does it ever make things sound real. Explosions and rockets make me smile. It goes down way low (20hz) and it gets up the the 120hz crossover with ease. Punk and Jazz sounds very good, the sub does not lag unlike others I'v heard durnig the same passages. The sub takes a while to break in so dont be dissapointed when you first get it. Im not overly impressed with the chrome plating, when something scratches the woofer it leaves a black mark, very annoying. The finish of the basket and magnet are works of art with no flashing and quality binding posts. The tinsel leads going to the voice coil seem a bit cheap but so far i have had no problems and I push it quite hard. Listen to Going to Fast from the Driven sound track, there is a part that doesnt realy make sound yet makes the sub move to near its excursion limits and I'v never felt it with any other sub but this one. It is quite the neat feeling. It would be nice if the sensitivity(85.4db) was higher but thats ok if it is sacrificed for the sake of SQ. My personal taste is the punch of the 10 and grunt of the 12 and this sub does it very well. The acutal driver size is 10 1/4" so it is acutally a 10, but does it ever dig for the lower frequencys. All 15's do not impress me at all. 15's are for for people without taste and want to impress morons. You can only listen to High Db's for so long, so you should go for SQ at all times.

Strength:

Looks, and cheap price

Weakness:

SQ, power handling, sub in generel is weak!

These MTX subs suck dick. They are horrible. I paid 60 dollars a sub because of dealer prices and i still wasted my money. As you can see i only used them for under a month, but thats because i blew them both within a week and a half! Luckly i sent them back and got new ones then sold them! I upgraded to kicker solo barics S12L7-D2. These 2 12's beat 2 times harder then the 2 mtx 15's ever did! Dont buy mtx its garage even if you only pay what i did! Spend the extra money and get a sub thats worth it!

Solid Subwoofer. Just blew up my second one in less than a year, however. The first lasted 3 weeks before the wires frayed. This last one rocked for 10 months before going. Voice coil did not freeze, therefore, I am not sure what happened.
