Strength:

HUGE magnet for an 8" subwoofer / Deep and resonant / Price

Weakness:

Lacks the power of a larger sub / A little "punchy"

I bought these little subs for my car because the stock speakers lacked sufficient bass response. I don't listen to rap or blast bass, so I thought a larger sub would be too much. I was right. For any kind of rock, be it alternative, metal or anything else, this sub works wonders!

It adds that sort of "kick" that you get from your home stereo system (if it's a good one) that lacks in a car's stock system. I've tried playing rap on my car just to see how the Pioneer's stack up and it surprised me. For their size, they work great! However, over-do it on the volume and they start loosing control (not good for them) and distort.

Overall, I would buy them again. For only $80 a pair at Best Buy, you can't beat the value. I would not recomend them for bass-heads though. They just won't satisfy the bass savy. But for anybody who wants to add a bit of low-end oomph to their existing system, grab a pair of these subs.
