Strength:

these subs squeeze out great lows with very little wattage applied. move lots of air for little cost. ive paid more for a sub before but these are an absolute value at there price range.

Weakness:

speaker seems to make a poppin noise when high wattage is supplied, but they take it. I recommend them in a trunk facin towards the rear of the vehicle for best performance.

paid a 120 dollars each for my subs and there worth every penny. If you dont wanna spend a lot of cash and get the most bump for the buck i highly suggest these subwoofers.

Similar Products Used:

jbl, sony, and rockford all have speakers in this class and price range but i dont think they can compete with the overall perforomance of these subs

Strength:

strong at mid to higher frequencies, and very good for the money. I run 180 rms into them, and they are champs. I have them in a 2 chamber bandpass box. they are clean at decent volume levels.

Weakness:

at low frequencies, the don't hold up as tightly as I wish they would, but I only paid $76 a piece. I can't ever complain.

I would reccomend them to anyone who is considering them for that price range. for a significant difference, you are gonna have to pay atleast $70-$100 per sub.

Strength:

Being in the car audio business I would say that the strengths of this sub would be the extremly clean sound and the deep bass response for the money. This is the best subwoofer on the market in its price range! ($100-$180)

Weakness:

The only weakness that comes from this subwoofer are the people who are unfamiliar with car audio and give it a bad name by tring to run an excessive amount of wattage through it. This is a sub with a sensitivity in the first place, it does not need much wattage to run it efficiently!

As a dealer, I sell this 12" sub for $90, but on average it would go for around $120. I highly recommend this subwoofer, (when used correctly) "sealed box, 3/4in MDF, crossover at 80Hz", to anyone looking for one of the best sounding subwoofers in its class and many classes above it.

Strength:

Sound very good, although this is my first subwoofer system.

Weakness:

Foam surround, somewhat low RMS power rating.

Paid $119 for a pair and $89 for a Q-logic bandpass box. Using a Kenwood 600 watt amp with them. They sound pretty good...able to shake my car to the point that I can't see anything in the rearview mirror. They work better with a nice strong bass beat than a bass line played on a guitar...if the frequencies change too quickly it seems to get garbled. But I've heard that this is typical for bandpass style systems. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product!

Strength:

They handled alot of wattage.

Weakness:

They couldnt carry my really deep bass, they distorted out at low levels of input.

I paid about 90$ per sub and I bought a set of 2. For the price you pay yeah I'd have to say go for it if your a beginner and not planning on upgrading soon.

Compared to the Sony Xplod 12" it rocked my world, but only as a beginner sub.

Price, Efficiency, Styling

Weakness:

Power handling

I bought 2 of these subs for about 70 bucks a piece new. I'd say they are pretty good for the price. I only have about 100 watts rms to each one and they play decently loud. The box I have them in is made of very thin MDF and isn't the right volume for them. I am getting a good sealed box soon that should make them sound better. The one problem I have with them is that they don't have very high power handling (Only 160 watts RMS). I would say they are a good choice for someone who wants a pretty good sounding beginner system or for someone who is on a tight budge(like me). I had MTX 4000's in my car with the same exact setup and they weren't nearly as loud and they seemed to bottom out easier.

Strength:

Handles low bass well. Tried one of those subwoofer tests (THX "ultimate subwoofer test" song) and it handled all bass frequencies without farting or distortion.

Weakness:

none so far...

Wow, I payed $69 (+5 shipping...only $5!) for this thing on ebay. It's running through a rockford fosgate punch 250a2 that was also bought on ebay and I am very happy! Add in a 41 dollar sealed box (also from ebay) and you have a nice little system for under 300. The box is only 1.25 cu/ft (pioneer recommends 1.5 or you may lose some low tones) and haven't had any problems. I haven't been able to run one of those tests that tells you what hz tone is playing so I can't give you an exact number, but it is pretty low. It hits hard enough to rattle the trunk and rear windshield (and the dash for that matter) when playing loud bass. Basically, you can't beat the value and the performance is excellent. I may even add a second one for more SPL. Highly recommended.

Strength:

very good frequency response, price it pretty good, doesn't need a lot of power or expense amp to pound em.

Weakness:

can slightly crack in cold weather

I purchased 3 12's and was impressed at how loud they were for the money. There frequency response is an impressive 18hz-1000hz. They can hit really low. If you dont have a lot of money to spend and want good bass than buy these.

Strength:

decent at low volume, somewhat cheap

Weakness:

bottom out, rattle, they can't be hit hard. if you like bass, don't buy these.

these things are junk. I bought them for $165 in a box new. at mid to high volume its mush, with the sub bottoming out. i'm running about 150 to each, and the amp is turned up halfway, and they sound like trash. at least they correctly play freqeuncies, i have seen these not do that. they drag like 15s, but won't play the same freqencies. i would not recommend these to anyone. get audiobahn high excusion, better and cheaper. don't buy these pioneers unless you are getting an awesome deal
