Strength:

Good low bass. Doesnt distort from what ive seen. Great look.

Weakness:

NONE what so ever.

GREAT subs. Ive only had them for a short while but they have really impressed me. If your wanting some good sounding subs for a reasonable price then this is a must buy right here. Ive had many different JL audio subs and these pioneers blow JL out of the water!!

Strength:

Very loud and deep. Powerful..

Weakness:

Distorts when you turn it up..

I bought this sub from one of my friends for $45. We hooked it up to a 300 watt memphis audio amp and i have it in an .8 cubic feet box. This is is nice.. it easily matches my friends 12 and 10 running at 500 and 450 watts and another one of my friends two 12 inch Sony Xplods with a 1200 watt amp. The only problem I had with it is that it kind of distorts at higher volume.

Strength:

Deep bass! Smooth response. Small box size. Good power handling.

Weakness:

Small box size (the darn box literally rolled around in my trunk! The double 10 box never moves even a few inches!). Somewhat low efficency. Lacking a punch.

I bought this with a sealed box off of ebay for $75 + shipping almost a year ago. At that time, I had an alpine 35x2 75x1 amp that I was powering it with. It sounded good but I knew it needed more power. I later bought a 300x1 Kenwood amp and hooked it up. Wow! Much better. The sub plays all frequencys very well. It really shines in the low bass region. I got it to hit the grill with one note! When I bought the Kenwood amp, the seller would only sell it with his two 10" Kenwood subs so I bought the whole package. I was able to compare the two 10s with the Pioneer. The Pioneer definately beat the two tens in sound quality and low bass but the pair of tens had a lot more punch then the Pioneer. They were overall louder as well. Comparing the two, I didn't like the Pioneer for it's lack of punch. I decided to use the 10s until I could build a different box for the Pioneer. Not enough efficency. I was very impressed with how small of box it requires. The Pioneer sealed box takes up less than half of the room the double 10 sealed box does. I think that this can be a very good sub if it is implemented correctly. I.E. a good box. I don't know the volume of it's current box and I know that it is not MDF. Using this sub however, I was able to reach 125~129db. I don't remember the exact figure but I know it was in the 120s. Not bad I say for $75 including a box. I am currently using the 10s because I like the punch and I havn't had time to build a better box for the Pioneer.

Strength:

Hits low just as hard and accurate as any of the famous JL audio subs I have heard. It's frequency range makes it adaptive and accurate to play any kind of music.

Weakness:

The plastic surround bumper began to separate from the frame and leak air making it lose some bass, but a grill quickly put a permanent end to that problem!

I tell you what I have never heard as good of sound out of one subwoofer in my life. In my 1993 Isuzu Rodeo, I have one of these subwoofers in an average sealed box being run off of a Rockford Fosgate 350S (700 Watts Peak) which is bridged at 4ohms. I Have had a number of people told me that they think I have 2 to 3 subwoofers in my truck due to the awesome sound this thing puts out-I mean I cannot even see out of my rear view mirror at half volume, I was told that the legal limit was being able to hear the bass from about 75 feet away...and I am not kidding when I say my sub can be heard from about 300 feet away with my windows colsed. Even when I have it pumping my roof and back seat begin to rattle as if someone were jumping on them, as well as my windshield being cracked from the rear view mirror vibrating so hard. This is a must buy!!!

Weakness:

NONE for the price

Ive got two of these in a bandpass box, being pushed by a 1000w crunch u.s.a amp. these thing BEAT! if you are having trouble with these subs something is either wrong with your amp, your box, or you! ive never had trouble with these subs, even with the cheapo amp im using, they sound great and can compete with anything you throw at them.

Strength:

handles a lot of power for a long period of time. Have played these subs loud on trips over 5 hours and never had a problem. Have paid 3 times more for Orion, and Kicker. Not that much difference.

Weakness:

None, that I can see.

Really a good sub for the price I paid. Running a pair of these subs off of a MTX 6500D, using an Alpine HU, and it knocks the rearview mirror off. Handles about 300 watts apiece. Dont know what the other reviewers are running these subs off of. But I am extremely happy with these subs.
