Polk Audio GNX104 Subwoofers

Polk Audio GNX104 Subwoofers

DESCRIPTION

If you play it, GNX will rock it. This Polk Audio powerhouse produces gut-pounding bass and doesn't require a huge enclosure. The GNX104 10" sub sports a muscular steel basket (designed by MOMO, the Italian car performance accessories specialists) that supports the stiff, durable poly-mica cone.

An extra beefy magnet structure and motor assembly exerts tight control on the cone for precise, musical bass. The rear-vented pole piece bathes the 2" voice coil in cool air to dissipate heat. Hook the GNX104 to a powerful car amplifier, then get ready for some bass that will change your world!

Strength:

can handle more power than polk says it can. loud, 93db sensitivity. rubber surround, not too many of the subs at this price range and higher have it.

Weakness:

could hit deeper xmax is only .24in.

bought two of these about this time last year. needed something that would pound for hours. they did just that. put them on a 500watt rms bazooka amp in a small sealed box. ~.6cuft cuz each one would get 75 watts more than they should, heavly polyfilled. never had a problem. mirrors would blur, my ears would end up hurting if i played it for long periods of time. there was also this unknown period of time that only one of the subs was being driven at 350watts rms. a wire came loose. (next time i will buy 5-way binding posts instead of using just binding posts and spacing them. to work with 5-way inputs). yup must have been weeks. must have been loud cuz the amp was turning off with the protection led going off. but that sub kept on bumping. bumping till i looked in the trunk. still bumps to this day. no problem.
