Strength:

The build quality is excellant as with all Rockford Fosgate Products. Power, spl, and reliabilaty.

Weakness:

none

Have owned Fosgate products since 1989. Still have my first amp(Puch 45HD). These subs are in a class that very few subs can match. I have 1 with a 500bd on each coil and people cant beleive the way this sub pounds. It is truly amazing. Looking for another 1 and up grading to 1000bd or 2. Long Live Rockford Fosgate! Car audio for true fanatics.

Durable Great SPL Sound Okay Can take a lot of power

Weakness:

Huge Box need for true Spl are power hungry for those who cant afford more amps

When a local shop was switching from Rockford to Kicker they were sellin all of their rockford stuff dirt cheap but i didnt fin any of these subs the about 4 weeks ago i found some burried and got them and put them in my car and the sound great i only have one RF 1500bd on both and its not enough these things can take about 1500 watts RMS safely and about 4000 if your burping them theres only one big flaw to these they need a hug box if you want to get the true SPL that these beast are made for I talked to Chris Norris who help with the team rockford series of sub and he said that they need at least 5.5ft3 a piece to get true spl they are in a box that rockford recs but Norris said you would gain about 5 or 6 db if they were in a 5.5 and thats a lot but other than that they are great

Strength:

Stong, deep bass. Performs well in vented enclosure. Durabilty is unsurrpassed.

Weakness:

Requires alot of power. Sound Quality is sacrificed a bit.

All in all, a good subwoofer. When I first hooked it up, I was dissapointed at how loud I had to turn up my whole system to get decent output. I then realized my amp was still running at 4 Ohm, so I bumped it down to 1. At 1000 watts RMS, this sub starts to warm up. I realized after I had that much power going through it, what would a little more hurt? I threw 2 BD1500's at it, (one one each voice coil) to have a total wattage output of about 3200. There is no way I can decribe how low this sub goes now. I have a sine wave generator which I can set to 20Hz. This sub POUNDS when it hits it. I have it in a dual ported box with about 2.1 cubic foot of space inside. I know it's not much, but I didn't want it to sound too boomy. Good sub, but not a beginners level. If you want loudness from this sub, I recommend putting AT LEAST 1500 watts RMS into it. I have already seen one 12" handle 4000+, so don't worry about bowing it up.

These subs are ok. I expected more from them than they produced. I had 2 of these running off of 2 kicker zr1000's and my 4 w3v2's pounded harder and also sounded better.

Strength:

very loud, strong deep bass, can be found pretty cheap, huge sub

Weakness:

sound quality, but who cares if your looking for Sq you shouldnt be looking at these, these are flat out SPL baby!

Yeah these subs can defiantley pump. My friend just bought one and hooked it up to a rockford 1050S an it gets very loud. Im assuming people looking at these are looking for Spl and they sure can do it. His 12" got metered at 144dbs not too bad. I still would take a Kicker L7 over it though. My L7 15 hit 149.7 dbs, but its a 15 so its probably not fair. Rockford has great subs, sometimes they get a bad rap because people are ignorant and dont like the fact that ceratin companies sell them. They are very reliable and can eat up power. definatley worth the cash

Shaga rotten baby! I have Four of these bad boys in a 1999 ZX2. Not much room to have four of these awesome subs. I run 1 2000 watt Legacy to two and a 2000 watt legacy to the other and there is no one able to handle that. I have friends take turns (with the windows down of course) betting they can sit in the car with the stereo all the way up (and the amps have a bass boost on them) and no one I mean no one has yet to sit through an entire song! You your like most panty waist get one, if your like average Joe get two. You want people to know when your in the county get four in a sealed box and run 1000 watts continuous to each. I could run 1500 to each if I wanted or maybe more, but I plan on keeping these speakers for a while. I have to keep the bass down and the volume down while driving. Once I'm parked I roll down the windows and get out and use my remote to turn them up. Now that's some serious BASS. BASS in these Rockfords should have been spelled B.ASS for Bad ASS!

Nothing is similar, but I have used the 2002 Bazooka 12" with the liquid cooling pumps and they are no where near these. Thanks Rockford Fosgate!

EVERYTHING!

Weakness:

Not really one, but I suppose the screw terminals instead of push terminals... might come unscrewed or loose over time, but if that happens I'll just sauder the wires.

I must say, eBay rules! I got this sub brand new for less than 300 dollars shipped, and that was even w/ tax because the eBay store that I got it from was in NY! So check eBay! This sub is awesome! Everyone thought I was nuts for only going with one 12 in my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that I just bought... because all of my friends know how I like to have a loud system. In my past car... 97 ford contour, piece of s---, lol... I had a 15" HCCA in the box w/ the window that most everyone's seen, very nice box (3.0 cubic feet ported, tuned somewhere in the low 30s). After I blew that at a carshow (had it on for about 3 hours straight w/ bass tests and other songs that just slam, then after that I had a bass test that I kept playing over and over becuase in the beginning it hits at 20 hz so the sub moved over 6 inches, peak-to-peak. I forget the test but noone could believe it, lol I have it on tape too so I can show everyone). After I blew it I took a 10" phoenix gold QX series sub in a small sealed box from outta my room and had it hooked up for a few days... very awesome sub for being only about 60 bucks brand new... highly recommended for people that don't wanna spend a lot of money. I then sold that and bought 2 hart EKG squares and had them in a subzone dual ported box (1.77 cubic feet per sub, tuned around 37 Hz). I figured in my new car I'd get just one sub to save some space, so I got the RF... great choice!!! All of my friends love it as much as I do! I have it wired in series in a ported box (2.27 cubic feet, tuned around 40 Hz). For being tuned so high this sub slams the low notes very nicely! I didn't think it was going to hit as low as it does, but it def. does! My amp is still my Orion XTR900 that I've had for a few years, great amp! Might sell it and buy a Cadence a7+hc 1400 watts RMS (at one ohm) but not sure yet, because I'm very happy w/ my set up now! This sub has insane SPL and way more SQ than I expected! After letting the sub break in for about a week I turned my non-fading level to my cd player from 0 to +3. WOW!!! It's so loud, I took a few friends for a ride and they were like HOLY S---!!! Especially when I played "I'll Call Before I Come" by Outkast. This sub even hits the low bass of Ass and Titties by 36 Mafia... something my Harts did not.
