Strength:

its cheap and looks good

Weakness:

its a budget sub. Sony suckers people into buying it by making them look good and there popular name

These are budget subs but nobody should own these. Most people buy these becuase they cant afford better. But either a Rockford HE or Kicker comp will put these to shame at the same price level. Look elsewheer

Can take a beating, Looks good

Weakness:

Distorted Bass

I bought this Sub for my Infinti a year ago. They pump good until you crank up the bass. Doesnt give enough pounding bass, but its pretty strong. Probably good for the money but i wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

Strength:

SQ is good, $$$ ratio is decent

Weakness:

low RMS, can''t pound,

I think that these subs are decent. I have two of them in my car receiving 150Wrms from Kenwood monos. They have very good SQ but the don''t boom. Maybe it''s the enclosure, it''s a sealed unit with 0.7 cuft per sub. They hit hard enough to hear...but not to feel. I''m scaping this system, my gains were cranked and my sweet components up front and back are drowing them out. They''re alright for the price..that''s it.

Brought one of these for my dad from www.mcs-direct.co.uk in England for £29 half of the rrp. He has a kenwood headunit and runs this using a sony xplod amp 120wrms.The box is installed in a home made box to the measurement in the manual. The problem was that road noise was killing the bass coming from the standard speakers. After installing the sub and amp i was pleasantly suprised, it doesnt make the streetz shake as my kicker solobaric, but it does make listening to music in car a better experience.
When you crank the volume up which my dad rarely does the sub copes well with the amps power and has little distortion. The SQ is excellent for the price and the lows it can reach are pretty good for a 10. If you want to add a bit more depth in your music the sl1030 is a good piece of kit but dont expect to give women orgasms with gut destroying bass.

Strength:

Good SQ, Good looks. Built well. Cheap.

Weakness:

A little large for the holes in my Q-logic box.

For the price these cannot be beat. I spent $200 for my subs, amp, and box. People cannot believe how loud and clear the subs are. At first they made fun of them but then I put in a Bass test CD and 2 people got sick from the amount of bass these were putting out. For value per $ these are the best. Many people think I have 2 12s and some think I have 15's. These are great subs and I highly recommend them for anyone on a budget.
