Strength:

Pounds!!! Sounds good with small amount of power and can handle a lot if needed.
Price!

Weakness:

Sony's Customer Service. Still not bad.

Very nice Bass response, bought a pair, Called sony asked about putting them in a bandpass box was told "I don't know". I put them in a band pass and all I can say is WOW!! I hooked them up to a fosgate punch 100 and sounded great. Then hooked them up to a Sony Xplode 1002HX and DAMN!!!! For the price this is the best sub you can get! I have used Rockford and JL and they are not as effecient with low and high power. THEESE THINGS WILL MAKE YOUR EYES CROSS IN A BANDPASS BOX!!!!

Strength:

STRONG AND TIGHT BASS AT LOW AND HIGH LEVEL.

Weakness:

DOESN'T WORKS WELL IN SEALED BOX.

THIS IS A FANTASTIC SUBWOOFER FOR BASS REFLEX BOX(35/45L). DO NOT PUT THE 1230/1235 IN A CLOSED BOX.

THE XS-L1235 IS MORE POWERFULL AND BETTER THAN XS-L1230.
MY ENGLISH(WHAT ENGLISH?) IS VERY BAD.
SORRY!!

Strength:

GOOOOOD price for a NEW sub. Nice, tight bass.

Weakness:

Distorts at high levels.

OK, to start, I DID NOT want to spend like $1000 on a new sub and amp. I'm not rich and my car sucks so don't think of this sub as a competion level speaker. I DID like the price and the fact that it was meant for a sealed box so this was perfect.

The bass hits tight and loud... to a point, so don't expect this to shake the earth or your ride. But for the price-quality ratio, this sub CAN NOT be beat.

I HIGHLY recommend this 12" to anyone on a budget or for someone just looking for a good basic setup. If you want to spend more cash go for some JL's.

Strength:

Cool looking. Screw terminals that accept banana plugs. They hit tight and low, or boomy if I set my system for that. Does everything I need and more. Excellent value.

Weakness:

I found no weakness.

I bought these subs because they were buy one get one free. They met the specs I wanted, and I like the red look. These are replacements for my stolen Orion's. I didn't expect much from them due to the price(59.99 ea.) Boy was I wrong. These subs hit...period. I have my system conservatively set so I don't get overwhelmed with bass. If you want to entertain the neighborhood--crank 'em. I want deep, tight, fast hitting bass. I got it even with a Q-logic bandpas box that cost $99. The box is large so if you have a hatchback get smaller subs or a different enclosure. I have had a few systems and heard many more. I can't help but to think anyone who had a bad experiece with these needed to adjust their system. My system is:SonyCDX-M750,Sony XM-1502SX,MB Quart 5-1/4, Kenwood 6x9's,&1235's.

I had a pair of Orion XTR-DVC's(10's) in a similar box. They were also awesome. Pioneer 12's in a sealed box were as loud but not as accurate.

for the price overall is a *ucking 10.They hit pretty darn hard and trust me one of my friends has an audiobahn sub and this blows it out of the water. And who says sony is going down hill, not me these subs are great for tight fits 1.0cu.Ft. sealed. so if your looking for a subwoofer that hits hard, goes low, and can play loud as hell buy this sub.

very impressive sub for the money. i got the two for $139, it was buy1/get1. 800w max is good too, im pushing 400w to each with my 800w profile amp. not the best amp, but no one i know hits harder then me unless theyve got 15's. people who say sony sucks, or that these subs are a waste of money and time, they dont know anything at all about car audio. there are way better woofers out there, but for the money, nothing beats these.
