Oh man this sub is really good. It makes great use off all 100 watts. Usually when people get into my car and i turn up the bass, they just laugh. But once they stop laughing i show them that i have one awesome sony 10. Usually they start laughing again but once they stop they tell me "thats pretty cool"

Weakness:

There is nothing wrong with this sub. Its so amazing sometimes if i listen hard enough i can sometimes hear the bass, its SO amazing. Well i think i spent a great $900 dollars on this sub

ok i bought my one 10" from johns sound shack about a year and a half ago. They charged me about $900 for te one 10". It runs at 100 watts and peaks at 200. I dont think i got ripped off.

My opinion, very good, budject subs. you can pick up a pair for bout 100 if you look

Weakness:

dont take extreme wattage good

Got 2 of these for 130 at best buy during a sale. My first Real subs, had them almost a year. Mainly used them in my room in a dual sealed box, ran about 150w to each. Did very well, hit all the lows on all my bass cds. After aquiring a Sony 760w amp, I threw them in my parents 15 passenger Ford. I have to say for that size of a vehicle, they did very well, till my brother almost blew them. So they're back in my room, alittle warn and slightly distorted at high volumes, if you can hear it over the bass.

Strength:

Flashy red poly cone and cheap for 60 bucks that I wasted...

Weakness:

It just can't handle and more than 150w without breakin.

This is the follow up from my last review. And this one is the flipside... The speaker has a 800w max input. I had a 300w Visonik 2208 amp that I had going to it, I would say from 200-250 w RMS that was bridged. I wanted more from the speaker so I got a bigger amp. I bought a Profile MSX-600 mono amp. to power this so called budget beast. I was goin down the road and put in a Ultimate Challenge CD. I guess in the bass test section track #14 or so it hit so hard that the dust cap blew off the speaker and it never functioned again. I thought the damn coil was gonna catch on fire :( I had such high hopes but the thing is that I had my volume on #10 and the bass boost on my unit was @ 0.

Strength:

Perfect for small boxes like mine (Ranger pickup), the low end respose is great and obviously the price!

Weakness:

underrated my most due to price! Other than that nothing yet

Overall I am satisfied with the product and for the price you can't beat it wit' a stick, bra.. I got it powered by a Visonik-2208 300w amp bridged, so its gettin' from 150w-250w RMS(gain about half) and the sub is is mounted in a non-ported enclosure.

Strength:

Price and space needed for box.

Weakness:

not much excursion or power handling, a 100 rms more would of of been alot better.

Well these were the first subs i bought and i actualy only bought them is cause its all i could afford. It was like 130 for two of them but i was prety satisfied even after i heard other peoples systems with W3''s and RF''s. Most people would think they aint that good cause of the price but i never had a problem with the 12''s and later on the 15''s. I especialy liked that they were loud but still had prety good sound quality. Was pushing them with a Sony800 watt, 400 rms, and they never distorted or nothing. Yeah i know, i bought alot of sony but i moved up to Solobarics and PPI amps now, but still loyal to sony.

these tings bumps. People that says sony subs arent great they are wrong or just want to be stubborn because of the $$ of their subs. My girlfriend´s bro has 2 of these being powered by a kenwood 600watt amp(not the new one, other old style but greater and more powerful), in a ported box. All i can say is the second song i couldn´t stay in the passenger seat of his pathfinder 2001.. imagine being in the trunk ;)
