Strength:

Durable, sounds good, and looks good.

Weakness:

Don't have dual voice coils.

This is a good product. It is 500W RMS and 1600W max. I paid $60 for it in a Q-Logic bandbass box. I'm currently using a sony xplod 222w amp and I had it hooked up to a 600W rockford fosgate, it sounds decent hooked up to both amps but i would suggest a bigger amp. I'm also looking for another one.

Strength:

Rigid cone, stiff suspension, can handle pounding, decent power handling, looks.

Weakness:

Boomy, doesn't go low, misses out on a lot of information below 40Hz.

The sub looks cool but its a Sony. they make good mass market products and i should have stuck with purchasing an Alpine S Type. The sub can handle a decent amount of power (rated at 400W RMS thought Im feeding it about 200W RMS) but it fails to hit those low low notes. I used to have an Alpine S type and it would really dig deep. All those low end notes suddenly seem to have disappeared. The sub is a little boomy as well. I wouldn't call this a sub in the true sense. More like something that operates in the 40hz-120hz region (which your 6x9's can do extremely well). However Im still satisfied with it because of the rugged nature of the cone. It is pretty stiff andcan withstand long hours of constant pounding which is why I am giving it a 3 star rating. It cannot hold its own against a basic entry level JL/Alpine sub at all! Suggest you go for 2 Alpine S Types and feed them 200W RMS each. Will rock you!
