Strength:

Ease of cleaning off years of brake dust on the rear of the wheels that are never cleaned.

Weakness:

None that I can think of.

Purchased a set of newer wheels for my SAAB that had been taken off a newer model and never been cleaned. I bought the foam just to try it and WOW, the back side of the wheels, the portion that never gets cleaned look brand new!! I LOVE the product!!

I tried 409 and brake cleaner but the other Eagle product said not to use on polished aluminum wheels (Chrome & Wire Cleaner).

Model Reviewed: Eagle One Tire/Wheel Cleaner

Strength:

Found in local retail stores. Great tire and rim cleaner.

Weakness:

None

I've used many bottles of Eagle One Tire/Wheel cleaner for years with only great results. While E1 will loosen grime by itself I prefer to spend 15 seconds with a brush on each tire after applying E1. Read and follow the instructions on the container and clean one tire/wheel at a time. Rinse the tire and rim off thoroughly before moving to the next. Allowing the E1 and grime to dry before rinsing is a no/no. Obviously some people have ignored the instructions and now have complaints. Great product if you can read and follow simple instructions.

This stuff etched the crap out of my clear coated aluminum wheels and didn't even remove the dirt!
What was supposed to be a time reducing solution now has turned into a nightmare!
Avoid using at all costs! Mild detergents and elbow grease is still the best solution - I should have known better!

Strength:

None that I can see

Weakness:

Turns rubber on tire more brown
Appears to be working, but once tire dries, this is not the case

This review is for the new and imporoved A2Z that comes in a silver bottle now. I wasnt very impressed, the clinging suds turn brown so you think it is cleaning, when you let the rubber on the tire dry, the tire is more brown then when I started. I wasn't impressed, and won't be using it again.

Strength:

Totally cleaned very neglected rims all the guys said wouldn't come clean and that should be replaced before selling car. HA! I showed them! I hardly even had to scrub and was done all 4 rims in about 15 minutes.

Weakness:

None. Just wear some latex gloves and be careful when using.

Outstanding! I am a woman who neglected her 300zx. Now I am in the process of selling it. The rims were awful and a few cleanings did nothing. I found this product on this forum and decided to buy it. It was outstanding! The first product in a very long time that actually worked as advertised!

I ruined a set of 18" wheels with a polished lip with this stuff. "Safe for all wheels" my ass. It was a hot summer day and 30 seconds (as per label) was too long. Now I have a white milky stain all over the wheels. Eagle One said try metal polish, didn't work. They have no comment now. Don't give up a little elbow grease for spray on/hose off. (you still gotta wipe to get all the dirt off anyway)

Strength:

- Incredibly strong! - Quickly breaks down road grime and brake dust with minimal agitation. - Inexpensive. - Can clean tires just as well as wheels if you follow up with a tire dressing. - I can get one bottle to last 60-70 extremely dirty wheels and leave the wheels effectively cleaned.

Weakness:

- VERY VERY STRONG - Can easily damage chrome, clearcoated, or alloy wheels as well as plastic wheel covers if allowed to dry or not used as directed. - The bottle doesn't last long if you overspray the wheels which is commonly done by most people.

Being a detailer, I've used many different wheel cleaners and I regularly purchase several different ones. Eagle One A2Z is one of them. It cleans the dirtiest wheels that I've ever seen very quickly. However, this wheel cleaner is extremely powerful. It has a ph of 15 (with 16 being drain cleaner) and can damage delicate wheels such as clearcoated or polished alloy wheels if it's left to dry on the surface. This damage occurs twice as fast if you do not apply to a cool-to-the-touch wheel. With proper use, this is a very safe and effective wheel cleaner. I suggest that people only use it on neglected wheels or ones with very tough layers of brake dust and not for regular weekly washings. For very delicate wheels such as painted or alloy wheels, I would only use this product for an initial cleaning after I rinsed the wheel with cool water. It would be too risky to regularly clean surfaces like that with this powerhouse cleaner. It's probably the only product that can be considered something that you can just spray on and rinse off but even then, it's not that good. I spray it on, wait about 5-10 seconds and then agitate quickly with a wheel brush, which usually restores a wheel that is black with grime to a spotless condition. A good thing about this cleaner is that it can quickly clean tires as well as wheels provided that you use a tire brush to agitate the cleaner. It removes the brown discoloration that occurs to wheels and prepares them for tire dressings. Always be sure that you have rinsed this cleaner off of the wheel and tire completely or there may be some damage to places where the liquid can sit and corrode the wheel. In conclusion, this cleaner is probably the strongest on the market and should not be used lightly. Just because it's acid-free doesn't mean that it's perfectly safe. When used correctly, the results are not only amazing but can be acheived with less effort than with many other wheel cleaners. For more delicate wheels or regular washings, use "Wheel Wax" or a water-based cleaner like "Blackfire Gel", save Eagle One A2Z for wheels that are heavily soiled.

Strength:

The product seemed to work very well in taking off the dirt and brake dust...

Weakness:

Only problem is that it took off alot more than that. I bought some expensive 17 inch rims, white in color, with a chrome lip. Two days after buying the rims I wanted to keep them looking brand new so after purchasing this product I began to spray it on the two rims on the drivers side of my vehicle. After hosing off the cleaner some of the paint was corroded off the chrome lip of my rim. There was no damage done to the rest of my rim, but the chrome lip looks like the paint was chipped off. It broke my heart and I beg anybody else considering to use this product to read my review first and beware.

I am mainly writing this review as a warning to anybody who may be considering the use of this product.

I now use only soap and water to clean my wheels. Since I do this regularly it works great.
