Apex N1 Dual Cat back Exhaust Systems

Apex N1 Dual Cat back Exhaust Systems

DESCRIPTION

The Dual N-1 achieves greater power than the single N-1 because federal regulations prevent the single N-1 piping diameter from being excessively big. This means that the dual pipe design of the Dual N-1 flows more volume of exhaust than a single pipe could while retaining more mid range torque at same peak HP. As with the single N-1 the Dual N-1 canisters and tip are constructed of a SUS 304 polished stainless steel while piping is treated to a titanium particle based high temperature paint. Available for the RX-7 and 240 SX.

Strength:

-nice angled dual stainless tips. -aggresive sound. -show quality looks

Weakness:

-a tad loud at times but after some getting used to sounds nice. -kind of expensive but well worth it. -seems(although i dont know for sure)heavier than the stock exhaust system.

Iv only had my exhaust for about 5 hours, but im liking it more and more as i drive my car around. THe sound has a really deep bassy sound to it. The sound combined with the look of the dual angled tips gets a lot of looks from other drivers. Havent driven by many cops but if you ease off the gas the sound lightens up quite a bit and you can pass by law enforcment without any problems. The one thing i noticed is that the pipes are huge! they are bigger than i had thought which may be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you like. In most of the pictures iv seen online the pipes dont look as big. but i like them just the same. The greatest thing about the n1 dual in my opinion is its an alternative to the popular one big coffee can mufflers you see on most import cars. the other is that the n1 dual is only made for the 240sx and rx-7 so you wont see to many like it.

Strength:

Awesome looks, great sound, rarity, ease of install, mid to high range power increase, having people notice it, sounding better then any Civic on the road.

Weakness:

Loss in low end power due to huge pipes. This can be expected with any performance aftermarket exhaust, and can be more than made up for by simply installing a $40 K&N filter charger the you can get anywhere and install in 2 minutes. Works even better with a Cold Air Intake however. Nothing else is a weakness!

Oh my God this is awesome!!! This is by far the best exhaust system I have ever experienced. The install is incredibly easy, even for a beginning mechanic or someone with no mechanical experience. The sound is a wonderful deep, throaty rumble when idling with the a/c on, and a powerful roar when the engine is pushed past 2500 RPM. The looks of the dual canisters at the back is great, I have people ask me all the time what it is, and they all love it when I fire it up. Makes this car's four banger sound like a V6 with flowmasters. For best results, use with either Cold Air Intake, or at least a K&N Filter Charger to make up for low end torque loss due to the loss of back pressure because of the HUGE pipes.

Looks great, sounds excellent, great power gains, overall high quality, easy to install

Weakness:

none. It is almost perfect

This exhaust is no joke. It has a nice deep tone and is very throaty. It gives the car power that you can feel @2500 rpm and above. The sound is very intimidating. Compared to other exhausts it is very loud though but it is tolerable. It also has a unique look to it that puts fear in the hearts of civics everywhere. I recommend this exhaust to anyone. Oh yeah, buy it from rollhard.com. they have fast friendly service and good advice. This is the lowest price I found anywhere. And installation was a snap. I installed it in less than an hour.

Strength:

good power gains in the mid and high rmp range and good sound.

Weakness:

none yet except that running it with an cold air intake will improve your cars performance.

This exhaust is great. I was kind of skeptic at first but i was influenced to buy it. To tell you the truth i wouldnt go with any other exhaust. The sound is great especially when your at full throttle and the power gains were very noticable especially in the mid and high range. If your looking for an exhaust that is worth your money, you should consder getting the dual N1 system

Strength:

Rarity, exhaust note, performance gains! Well priced compared to other systems. Titanium coated for turbo applications (i.e. SR20DET).

Weakness:

Piping is not stainless steel and is rather heavy (~35lbs).

A rare system on a rare car. Rarity & looks were motivating factors as well as the required deep exhaust note:
Idle: w/AC off, the system is barely noticable.
Mid-range: noise increases sharply above 3k
High-range: it equals the noise level of my Injen CAI.
Together, they produce a strong, deep note.
Other: "gurgling" is minimal, slight buzz on highways is tolerable
Looks: They protude at a slight angle (25-30 degrees?) in its mission to reduce bends.
Performance: system is coupled to 2 functional Catyltics right now :( but noticeable gains are realized above 3k. SCC dynoed the N1 single which produced 15.6whp in the midrange. The dual claims to increase mid-range even more with its smaller dual piping. No official dyno as of yet...

Strength:

Noticeable mid-range gain in torque. Car pulls strongly up to redlline. The sound is nice and deep, none of that high pitch buzzing that other cars have.

Weakness:

The sound is nice but very loud, it took about a week to get used to it. Also, the exhaust will set off car alarms when cruising at part throttle.

I installed this product two weeks after I installed a cold air intake. The difference was noticeable over my stock exhaust. I had a local muffler shop do the installation for about $60. They said that it couldn't be installed on the stock hangers but I told them to do it anyway since I knew they were wrong. Everything hooked up fine with no mess. This exhaust is only produced for a small selection of cars (around six or seven models I think). For the 240sx, I honestly believe that this is the best exhaust out there. It weighs a bit more but you can't beat it for looks and performance. Very few companies offer a dual exhaust like this, most only use a single muffler with two big tips, so this will make your car stand apart from all those other cars with the big 5 inch tip. Trust me, those 5 inch tip exhausts have nothing on the Apexi N1 Dual. You might be able to find it for less than what I paid (I was surprised at the price, but everything for my car has been more expensive then comparable parts for cars like the Integra and the Civic), so that's why the value rating is only so-so. But it will perform as promised, and it will be noticeable (especially with and intake and headers).

bolted right up to stock hangers. looks awesome, and sounds very throaty. i saw a dyno result which shows it added 15hp. to a ka24de engine(which is my engine)

Weakness:

the only thing that could be better about it, would be for the whole system to be stainless. it does have a stainless can and tip, but i guess it would weigh more if the whole thing was stainless

i would definetely recommend this cat back system. i have used different exhausts on my previous cars(mr2,crx si..) and this is definetely the best system i have ever purchased. i paid $375 for it plus shipping.
