Bassani Cat-Back System Cat back Exhaust Systems

Bassani Cat-Back System Cat back Exhaust Systems

DESCRIPTION

One of the easiest ways to legally improve both performance and economy on virtually any car, light truck or SUV is to upgrade stock cat back sections. On the surface, it doesn't seem like significant gains would be possible by simply replacing mufflers and tail pipes. But true performance mufflers are rare in OEM applications, as is mandrel bent tubing.

Model Reviewed: Mustang GT

Strength:

Easy to Install and fit well.

Weakness:

The booming drone! Did I mention the drone?

The drone it makes between 1600 and 2000 RPM is almost unbearable. I wish I had purchased a less expensive, better engineered system.

Strength:

Incredible sound, passed VA inspection, MIL eliminators worked as advertised. Heads turn wherever you go.

Weakness:

Took this car on a 2,000 mile road trip. At around 2300 RPM for hours on end it get's old. Purchase ear plugs.
Still worth it.

Installed this on my wife's GT with a MAC pro-chamber. Awesome, true Mustang sound!
She gets compliments everywhere we go. The silly Hondas don't mess with her anymore.
Haven't dyno'd since the install but I'm guessing +15 HP without a tune.
I'll likely put this system on my Cobra.

Not too loud, very deep and throaty tone!!

Weakness:

Smells strange for the first 500 miles

Fantastic Product!!! Great sound and performance.

What strengths?

Weakness:

1)LOUD drone in vehicle,2)2 piece tail pipe quickly perforated at slip-joint,3)4"dia.extention is ugly,4)customer service is shocking.

After being assured by the sales rep at Bassani that the tone would be deeper NOT louder I purchased a cat-back system. The resonance inside the truck is unblievable. When I complained to the rep,he asked me if Iwould have purchased from him if he had been honest andIwas lucky as the 5.0 mustang system is worse.

Custom made by a local shop, less expensive too.

Strength:

none

Weakness:

Drone and size

The exhaust extensions are too big for the PT Cruisers anbd they have a drone when you mildly try to pick up speed on Highway. With the resonators out they are way too loud for comfortable driving.

Model Reviewed: 2001 SVT COBRA

Strength:

Formula-1 style welds. Top quality metals. First class fit and finish. True Exotic car like sound. Lighter throtle feel. Dynojet readings of 17.3HP@ the wheels. There is nothing quite like 32 valves at full song with a Bassani system!.......Did I mention the sound?

Weakness:

Cost!!! With folks that are better known like Borla costing $490.00 in comparison with the same from Bassani costing $640.00 and having a list close to $800.00. Most will not go with Bassani.

After a long and sometimes painful search for the highest quality parts for my Cobra, Bassani Exhaust is by far the very best. From weekend warriors to serious racers, they have all recomende Bassani!!!!

Similar Products Used:

Flowmaster and Borla. I did not have the chance to have either of the two systems on the Dyno, but they both felt copletely underpowered in comparison to the Bassani. The fit and finish from the Borla

Model Reviewed: Model51024 muffler

Strength:

304 stainless steel all welded case.

Weakness:

Perforated cores are not type 304 stainless steel; light gauge case cover.

Neither manufacturer nor authorized dealer will back this product or discuss this customer's dissatisfaction.

Once installed, this muffler did not meet claims for sound suppression. A performance sound is one thing, but this muffler has resonance and a harsh roar that drills to the core of your brain, turning your 2,000 mile vacation trip into a ride to hell.

This is the perfect muffler for a motorhead with substantial hearing loss or who desires to suffer from same.

Dyno Max Super Turbo all welded. Dyno Max Super Turbo exceeds Bassani 51024 in construction technique, materials, and durability.

Model Reviewed: 1999 Expedition

Strength:

Stainless Construction, good fit, looks great, noticeable power increase. Sounds good outside the truck. Sounds good inside the truck at 1/8 throttle or less.

Weakness:

Extremely noisy (they call it "quiet thunder", I just call it thunder), major resonance in truck. Unbearable at highway speed or towing. Called Bassani to complain was told: "1) you are the first person to ever complain and 2) all 3 inch catbacks resonate in the cab".

Very disappointed in the product and the service given. If you are deaf or want to become deaf, it would be a great system. Otherwise, there are better choices out there. Caveat Emptor!

Similar Products Used:

1) Stock, No noise, no power.
2) Gibson, was much quieter but power seems a little less.
