Great sound It looks great

Cop Magnet!!

I got my Greddy Evo exhaust installed today and all I can say is that I love it! I love the sound and it looks great. It has a nice low, throaty sound to it. Its not all buzzy like the cheaper exhausts. I totally recommend this product to anyone who is thinking about buying an aftermarket exhaust.

Great looks, easy fit

Weakness:

Expensive and does not last. You would think that an expensive system like this would last more than 1.5 years. Total waste of money!!!!

This system was great for the first year until it started to rust and now full blown disaster. You''d think for the price it would last at least 5 years. Unless you like giving money away I would stay clear from this product. I hear that this system does not last long with some serious rust problems. I''m now looking into getting a stainless steel system like Thermal R&D... something that lasts!!!!

Strength:

Sounds (very nice, deep, not ricey even on my D16), Power (noticed a slight gain in top end, easier to rev, not worth $450).

Weakness:

Looks (Big can systems are kinda out), Rust (High quality stainless shouldn''t rust but it was very slight on the can), Pipe hits the sway bar (Some after market sway bars might hit the piping, ask around before buying).

I was looking for a good quality exhaust with a nice deep tone and decided on the Greddy Power Extreme. The quality of the welds are nice, and overall the piping is costed with a thin coat of anti-rust coating. If your looking for a nice deep tone and none of the highway annoying sound I suggest the Greddy. As far as problems I had with the system was clearence of the rear aftermarket sway bar. I have a Neuspeed sway bar and the exhaust bend just after the can would rest on the sway bar bracket. While my car was only lowered about 2" it caused a bad vibration in the rear. What I had to do was have the piping rewelded but this should be noted if you intend to purchase this system. Also after 2 1/2 years on my car living in CA I noticed that the can started to develop very slight rust spots. Another problem is the hight of the can, if you have a lowered car and a drive way you will scrape. I highly recommend either the Greddy Evo which is the new version and has a much higher can.

Strength:

Build quality, sound, looks.

Weakness:

little expensive.

I had the Greddy PE exhaust installed onto my 1997 240SX.

Performance- Noticed about 10% loss in power at around 1500-2500RPM. Gained about 15% in power around 3000RPM+

Sound- Very quiet. I drove from Colorado to California and did not even notice the sound. (That's hours of high-speed driving at around 3000RPM~4000RPM)

Fit- It was ALMOST a perfect fit. Have not yet scraped it anywhere. No problem with clearance.

Looks- Looks great!!!

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. I wouldn't know how it performs compared with other models, but one thing I know for sure, it is alot more quiet.

Looks and sounds great!
Good power gains
Easy install

Weakness:

hangs to low-the new EVO exh. would have more ground clearance
HKS mini-dragger looks better

GReddy has always had quality products and it really shows on the PE.
For the sound+looks it can't be beat!! I have also installed a DC header and Intake that make the exhaust sound even racier than before. The PE exhaust really made the engine breath a lot better throughout mid to high rpm's.

i love the overall design, just like a freakin jet rocket under your car. with the v-tec (non-modified); just intake and headers provide one hell of a kick-ass machine and when it pulls, it doesn't stop unless you stop!!

Weakness:

i wish they made it so that the muffler would be raise as to scraping on my stock suspension (seriously, even when you go in at an angle)

i paid about 500.00 bucks which was the average installed too. i would definetely recommend it to anyone..well, lets just say this; if your going to do something, you might as well do it all the way, don't go half past..

Strength:

It is quiet and still makes good power. The exhaust note is deep and it doesn't backfire. Best of all it is 50 State legal. I am a frequent visitor to Fremont, CA where EVERYTHING on your car must be 100% legal, so this is a must for me.

Weakness:

It loses too much back pressure in a NA car, which causes a loss of torque below 3500 RPMs. Also it hangs way too low to the ground. Even with my car dropped only 1.3" I still scrape my exhaust on everthing. It is also a little on the expensive side.

I paid $499 for this bad boy. It was well worth the money. Best of all I can pass by cops without being noticed. I would recommend this system to anyone. And if you live in Fremont you must have a Greddy or else Officer Rosette will get you. Everyone in tha bay knows what I am talkin about.

Model Reviewed: 1992 Civic Si

Strength:

The exhaust note is unlike any other Civic exhaust I have heard. It's more of a deep, pleasant burble, as opposed to a sound more akin to a turbocharged weedeater. When floored in second gear through an underpass or tunnel, however, it transforms into a neat Formula 1 wail, though an octave or two lower. Noise, at least to me is not a factor. I test drove an Si with the factory exhaust the other day and it sounded my Granny's Corolla. I suspect that the increased pipe diameter of the Power Extreme system over that of the BL/SP series Greddy exhaust might trade off a bit of low end power for a bit more on the top end, at least on a stock set up like mine, but might really wake up a Civic with more radical modifications. I love the cosmetics.

Weakness:

The sole thing that I don't like about the Power Extreme system for the '92-'95 Civic HB is the fact that in spite of my caution approaching certain driveways, the muffler occasionally scrapes in the rare instances that I have two average sized adults in the back seat. However, Greddy seems to have addressed this problem with their "Evo" system by lowering the tip relative to the muffler allowing the muffler to tuck up under the car an extra critical inch or so. Cleaning the stainless steel muffler can be a bit of a pain. It's also a bit pricey (but often, you get what you pay for.)

I paid $500 for it. I don't think I would recommend it to those who have near stock Civics; I imagine that the Greddy SP system with the slightly smaller pipe diameter might provide more area under the torque curve; but for those with more radical GSR'd, turboed, supercharged or nitroused Civics, I would recommend the new Evo system instead, to avoid the scraping thing, you know.

An exhaust is required for turbo, n2o, or even a supercharger. NA cars can also benifit from this modification.
