Had it installed for approx.1 yr. Took it in for smog test. Failed big time due to unburned fuel. Only drove 2500 miles since I installed it. Took it in to 2 shops and both said same thing. Go figure.

No check engine light

Weakness:

Needs to be welded in

I had a lot of problems with finding a converter to work. This was the third one after trying a Catco and Eastern part. For some reason these could not keep the check engine light off. I was told to put back an original factory part but i did not have another $600. I wanted a Magnaflow direct-fit but no one had it. I was happy to find out that this converter works right but needed some welding.

Strength:

Dont know it was never installed.

Weakness:

It was not constructed to fit my application.

I purchased this part as a direct fit replacement for my 2003 Nissan Altima. When it arrived it wouldn't fit on my vehicle, although it was and still is supposed to fit on it.
When it was returned I was charged a restocking fee even though it was the manufacturer's fault not mine, actually to this day I not received my refund yet. Never order any products from Bandit Exhaust (Julio Ramirez, Owner)

None to little power gain and still stays within emissions standards

Weakness:

A very safe purchase. Offered $50 on eBay, seller agreed. I couldn't be more satisfied with the performance. I also passed emissions with flying colors (my car is directly imported from Japan). I would HIGHLY recommend this cat to anyone and everyone.

Great buy to increase exhast flow....incresed 1-3 hp

Weakness:

NOT A BOLT ON...NEEDS TO BE WELDED ON AND A CUSTOM 02 SENSOR INLET WILL NEED TO BE FORMED...

Got the cat-converter to open up my exhaust more, and very well increased my exhuast flow...I have afermarket headers and cat-back system, and this gave me at least 1-3 hp easy....great buy to help your car breath better and compliment your aftermarket exhaust...

Strength:

Very good performance! Less emission.

Weakness:

Did not experience any weakness yet.

I needed to replace my catalytic converter a couple of months ago and I asked my friend on what specific brand does he recommend for my cat. He suggested to try this brand. Purchased it right away at autopartswarehouse.com and installed it on my car. After that I've experience good performance on my truck and less emission, which for me is a good thing since it reduces air pollution. Really satisfied with it!

More power and better sound than stock

Weakness:

none!

I was driving up a hill when i suddenly lost power. it felt like someone had a grab on the back of my car. NO ACCELERATION! so i went and got it checked out. catylitic converter was done for. so was my muffler and mid pipe. so i took it to certified brake and muffler. and had the cat converter put if and right away the power canme back and it sounded louder and more bad ass.. tomarrow i am getting a mid pipe and flowmaster 80 series put on. i have read many reviews on the muffler and everyone says it is the best. so hopefully i get better gas milage and more power and better sound.. i RECOMMEND certified breake and muffler(if you live in washington near kent or auburn). they do great work.

Strength:

Quality, performance, sound, and emissions control. The best $60 I've spent on my car.

Weakness:

None

I was puchasing a new cat back, so I thought it would be worth to buy a new catalytic converter too. I bought a direct fit because it was only 15 dollars more and so much easier to install.
Paired with a Magnaflow Cat back, this cat converter provided excellent flow and performance. High end performance was improved and helped make exhaust deeper. I think this new cat converter may have better emissions control than my old stock catalyst.
If you are looking for extra performance, do not get a test pipe, instead get this. It provides nearly as good performance, while having better sound and emissions control.

Strength:

Very noticable power increase. Low back pressure but still passes emmisions easily.

Weakness:

smells alittle until it's broken it.

Getting the stock converter off was very hard. Installing this was easy including the O2 sensor. Even though my Jetta is a '96 it's OBD1 so I got a direct fit.

Similar Products Used:

stock, it was the original and was very clogged and I had very very very bad performance.
