Strength:

These headers made a noticable difference all through the RPM band and were pretty easy to install and added a more agressive tone to the exhaust

Weakness:

The interior sound may be a little too much for some people but I hve no problem with it.

Very nice construction good power through out the RPM band easy to install. I would recommend this product to anyone who doesn''t mind a little more noise and would appreciate more power.

Strength:

Good fit, bolts right on. Gaskets are included. Incresed low end torque and a little top end horsepower.

Weakness:

I bought the painted ones (cheapest ones) and after a while the paint burned off and the headers started to rust. Well, thats what I get for being cheap. If you buy these, it would be good to remove the paint and repaint them using high temperature paint of your choice. The other drawback is that Hedman uses a universal design for several different year Civics, therefore the O2 sensor port is on the A-pipe near the catalytic converter. For 1988 to 1991 Civics you will need to elongate the O2 sensor wire to make it reach. This is a simple procedure, the headers even come with a length of wire included to accomplish this.

I recommend these headers if you're looking for a 4-2-1 header and are on a budget. They work best on cars that don't already have a factory 4-2-1 exhaust manifold design.

Similar Products Used:

DC 4-2-1 ceramic coated headers. The performance was about the same on both at about half the price. The DC are only superior in the ceramic coating to prevent corrosion.

Strength:

Build quality, fit to block and under car, available with A.I.R. tubes for emissions

Weakness:

Didn't get them with high temp coating

Great headers! I've seen a couple other cars with these (69 Camaro was one), and they always fit very well around the block/heads, spark plugs, and underneath the car.

My hookers were ALWAYS raking the ground, and got bent twice on manhole covers because they hung low. Hookers also made it a pain to get to the spark plugs.

The Headmans fit great, tuck up nicely (only raked once on a big bounce), and they had them with the air pump tubes for that lousy #*$!ing emissions (even though i can pass without it). Came with all the extra crap for mounting a hot air riser and whatnot - i was really pleased.

Anyway, even though i only got the black painted ones, they've held up well, and now that i'm past emissions, i'll get a high temp coated set of non-emissions headers for my beast (the tubes get in the way and look lame).

By the way, if you use headers, do yourself a fav and get metal (copper or aluminum) header gaskets!!! I've got a set of Earls aluminum and they're the BEST!
