Strength:

Great power increase, can be felt. Rev the car up and it sounds sweet. Nice rumble at idle.

Weakness:

This muffler is very loud and drones while cruising and resonates on down shift. I hada resonator put on but the sound is still loud and seem to have lost that sweet.

I''d got the a custom 3" exhaust done with the Dynomax Ultra-flo muffler and no resontor. The muffler itself is a neat job, and the barrel itself is 6" so doesn''t dangle down like some of the other mufflers.

Strength:

Nice polished stainless steel, Million Mile warranty, Quiet, un-annoying sound,

Weakness:

kinda heavy. Is that a weakness tho?

This muffler has awesome construction. the edges are clean and crisp and looks professional. Even has a "DYNOMAX" logo stamped into the stainless steel. I opted for a larger than stock universal for my civic. Larger mufflers have less noise and less noise means less hearing fatique and police attraction. I didn't notice any horsepower increase but i do know the low end torque has dropped. That's what you get when you decrease restriction with an aftermarket exhaust on a 4 cylinder engine. The sound that comes out is great. I would've liked it to sound very low and deep, but it's just fine as it is. Very good price too. It's ridiculous to pay 600 US bucks on a DC sports or Greddy muffler system. Sure, they have nicer materials and better construction but the price is wack.

Looks good.

I bought the Ultra Flo cat back exhaust system (part # 17-359) for this truck in April 2000 and had it professionally installed and mig welded in.
I would recommend the Ultra Flo muffler and the cat back system to any one wanting improved performance and sound from their vehicle's exhaust system.
The Flowmaster and Borla products cost more but, they don't sound better or out perform the Dynomax Ultra Flo!!!

Noticable power gain, very nice sound while not noisy at all, competitive price.

My conclusion is just forget about those very expensive mufflers, buy the Dynomax Ultra Flo and you'll not regret. Why bother spending more money on other more expensive mufflers when you can buy a high quarlity built, stanless steel straight-through muffler for a much more reasonable price? I have this muffler with a 4-2-1 header and 2" piping, a 20% increase in power can be felt under the foot, definitely recommand everybody to get the header and the pipe done along with the muffler.

Dynomax Super Turbo... nowhere near the Ultra Flo in any aspects beside price. People might think the Super Turbo is quieter, but I can guarantee you that it's just as noisy as the Ultra Flo and indeed the resonance is greater than the Ultra Flo.

Strength:

Good sound, marginal power increase. Not really enough to notice right off the bat. Nice look. Unrestrictive air flow. Should think about the cat- back to notice the power gain.

Weakness:

A bit loud for some people. Not me though.

I paid about $140.00 US. Probably can get it cheaper in the States. I would recommend it because you get good looks, sound and bang for the buck.Get the whole Dynomax cat-back system for the price of a Borla muffler!

I used a Hooker Muffler on my old Pontiac Sunbird. More noticeable power from the Hooker, also, much, much louder than the Dynomax I have now.

I honestly havent used it yet but i am willing to buy it this month. I know Borla is the stereo-typical SS exhaust cat back but they are TOO expensive as everybody knows. And as far as i have read the cusomers' comments on Dynomax Super Turbo -which is NOT the equivilant of Borla- i can only ask you to check this image out -from A-1Performace.com- and see by yourselves the power and price of Ultra Flo, the judgement is your's:

Strength:

Nice power gain, inexpensive, GREAT sound, should last a long time.

Weakness:

Slightly different size than stock muffler, so shop had to be a bit creative in mounting it. Occasionally makes contact with other parts on really rough roads, or big bumps, causing a sort of rattling sound. No big deal, and it only seems to happen on really hot days after the exhaust is fully heat-soaked.

A great muffler for the money. I went with the welded aluminized model, as opposed to the stainless steel, to save money and weight. I like the straight-through design a lot, and the universal size was a pretty good match for my stock muffler. The sound is INCREDIBLE - a deep, bassy idle, a really throaty roar through the midrange, and then a nice sort of sportbike growl at high RPMS. No lawnmower sound here. It's even quiet at cruise (up to 75 MPH) with no annoying resonance. It gives a nice gain in top-end power with no loss in low-range torque (this may be attributable to the rest of the exhaust - a high-flow cat and upsized piping - that I installed at the same time, though).

Compared to stock - there is no comparison. This muffler offers better flow and power, and the sound is phenomenal!
