Flowmaster 50 Series Muffler Mufflers

Flowmaster 50 Series Muffler Mufflers

DESCRIPTION

The 50 Series offers a mellow, deep sound in most applications. It is quieter than the 40 Series mufflers outside the vehicle, and is significantly quieter inside the vehicle through the use of a special Resonant Tuning Chamber within the muffler. The 50 Series provides performance comparable to the 40 Series. The 50 Series is also available for SUV applications and provides mellow interior sound levels (ISL) and mellow to deep exterior sound levels (ESL).
- Most all Street/Strip vehicles with or without catalytic converters
- Vehicles with dual exhaust

Strength:

Loud with a nice lOW Rumble. Nice performance gain as well. Loud but not straight pipes loud.

Weakness:

This muffler is loud outside and inside.

I put a Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow 3inch inlet dual 2 1/2inch outlets. This is a MAJOR improvement over stock. I noticed I had a little less low end power but I gained more top end power. I noticed that I had more power to pass while on the highway. This has a nice low rumble and is loud outside the cab. Has alot of resonance inside the cab as well. I personaly love it. Combined with my Gibson Headers and high flow cat this truck purrs. I may caution that if you are not looking to set off car alarms or do not like interior resonance then this is not for you. You have to love the sound of the muffler more than the radio. This is not to say you can not hear the radio or hold conversation but it is loud inside.

Strength:

Sounds great on acceleration. Quiet at highway speeds. Better gas mileage and more low end power.

Weakness:

Basically no sound at idle. Drones at 1800 rpm's (45 mph). Can get really loud when going up steep hills.

I got the 50 series single in dual out. I was wanting something quieter than the 40 series but I didn't think it would be this quiet. It sound good on acceleration but after that it has no sound. I am maninly dissapointed that at idle you can hardly hear it. It also has a pretty bad drone at 1800 rpm's. The good thing is that it quiets down at highway speeds. My truck has the 4.8 liter engine.

Heavy-duty construction, great sound. Price was good.

I just had my Flowmaster 50 series Delta Flow mounted today, 2.25" inlet, dual 2" outlet with 3" stainless Magnaflow tips . I must say, it's not even broken in yet, and I love it! It sounds so sweet outside, not too loud, but not quiet either. Just perfect for me. And I can't hear it at all in the truck, except when accelerating, and it's still very quiet. If you like interior noise, then don't buy the Delta Flow. But on my truck with a 4.0 Liter V6, I couldn't ask for much better. The only thing I'm upset about is how much I paid to have the pipe bent and welded and mounted, but I didn't shop around. I still LOVE the sound I get. I guess it can only get better. Great product!

Mellow, choppy sound at idle, crackles like a top fuely when i stomp it. great sound for large engines.

Weakness:

I would like a louder overall sound.

I bought a 1965 chrysler Newport with a 383 big block rated at 270 hp. It had 50 series flows on it at the time of purchase so i can't tell whether it made any fuel mileage or power increases. But my God does it sound sweet. Loudest car at school.

WAY TOO MUCH INTERIOR RESONANCE.YOU CAN TELL THAT FLOWMASTERS ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR INLINE ENGINES

I BOUGHT A 2.5" CAT BACK WITH A 50 SERIES DELTA FLOW MUFFLER.SOUNDS GREAT AT IDLE BUT HAS WAY TOO MUCH INTERIOR RESONANCE INSIDE MY CHEROKEE.FLOWMASTER MAKES THE MOST TECHNILOGICALLY ADVANCED MUFFLERS ON THE PLANET(IT IS ACTUALLY QUIETER UNDER FULL THROTTLE THAN AT IDLE)BUT THEY NEED TO RESOLVE THE RESONANCE PROBLEMS THAT EVERYBODY TALKS ABOUT

Strength:

Really good sound. Quiet at idle, but very noticeable at high rpms, especially when returning to low rpms(when clutch pedal is pressed). Slight power increase. Go to flowmaster's website for cool sound clips.

Weakness:

Burning smell for the first week or so (actually burning paint off muffler which is ok because the thing is ugly). No fule mileage increase as stated in ad.

I actually used a 60 series delta flow. It was a great value. I revved the engine for some friends and they were like "oh yeah!"
