Strength:

Performance.
Durability.
Quality of Workmanship.

Weakness:

Makes a lot of noise at idle. Not very stealty at the stop light.

The kit I have is the high output kits for 89 through 93 5.0 mustangs. This blower has performed exceedingly well for 9 years (70,000 miles). The car is an 89 GT mustang with AFR heads and so on. It is fast without the blower but with the blower Z06 Vettes are on the menu now. The kit was very well done. As an engineer for a railroad equipment manufacturer I was impressed with the completeness of the kit as well as the included instructions. This was not my first blower on this car. The previous blower was a SN-93 paxton. The paxton was a total peice of junk with fundimental design flaws. The only good thing about the Paxton was it's quitness. The Vortech is quite noisy at idle. (straight cut gears in my blower). The only part I have had to replace in the kit is the blower belt idler pulley. (20 bucks at any parts store) I highly recomend the Vortech blower kits.

Paxton SN-93 kit. Very poorly designed and arrogant service people to boot. A real shame Vortech and Paxton merged.

Strength:

So much power and the sound I love.

Weakness:

It was pretty expensive but SuperchargersOnline.com gave me a pretty good deal on it.

I love it. I never owned a supercharger before and this thing had me pin to the seat. I can beat cobras now with no problems. I also love the way it sounds. I don't think I will ever settle for anything else.

Weakness:

i have this supercharger on my 95 ford mustang gt. I have not had any problems with it and it has been 3 years since install. The blower gave me 106 hp at the rear wheels. I have the s-trim kit and it was supposed to give me 8 psi of boost and i'm really getting 8 1/2 pounds of boost. I highly recommend this if you got money to burn, superchargers arnt cheap.

Strength:

When working.. gives my car over 115 horsepower

Weakness:

Very costly repairs, because only Vortech will do them. Not at all reliable!

If I were to spend the money on forced induction again I would probably go with a turbo kit. I originally went with the charger thinking it was more reliable, but i was very wrong! I have had to rebuild the vortech charger 2 times already. Repairs have cost me more money than I bought the damn kit for. I would not recomend buying a vortech supercharger!

Strength:

Weakness:

Very EXPENSIVE. Worst case of American workmanship I have ever purchased. Kit does not fitup as advertised. Requiers alot of rework to be reliable then unit starts acting up. Works OK for about a year then starts down hill from there.

After year warranty runs out unit has to be rebuilt. Only vortech can rebuild unit because they "OWN THE PATENT" and will not sell any replacement parts, cannot even get a seal for front shaft which will start leaking after approximately 2 years. Will cover entire engine compartment with oil. Vortech service personnel no help. Will require removing unit and sending back to them at your expense to get repaired. Workmanship from vortech service no better then shade tree mechanic. Works till you get back on car and will start acting up again. Minor repair cost from vortech over $300.00 + freight costs. Best thing to do if own one is only drive less then 2000 miles a year. Cannot depend on unit to last. Reccomend not buying anything from vortech till they get thier program straight.
