Strength:

low premium at the time

Weakness:

You can never talk to an intelligent, mechanically inclined rep. And never the same person twice.

refused to finish up repairs on my vehicle after instructing me to take it in and getting the work done. Seems that their low ball estimate was truly as rediculous as it seemed. Out of thier way not to put details on paper so phone conversations were contrewed and misrepresented on several occassions. Flat out lied to on two occassions

Strength:

They don't have any strengths other than to take your money.

Weakness:

Poor customer service, and lack of commitment

I have paid them religiously for years and they failed to come through for me and repair my car when I had my accident. They just think that because I have too much miles on the car, it is totalled so thanks to them, I have car payments. The customer service was poor and one individual was very condecending. I am switching to Geico

paid the damages without a fight

kind of expensive rates

My wife hit a lady in the tail end going to work one morning. It totaled our S-10, but the liability coverage was paid out within 3 weeks of the accident and life went back to normal.

Horrible customer service. Long wait times on the phone.

I have had all of my vehicles insured through Liberty Mutual for the past 8 years. During my 8 years of coverage I have never been involved in an accident, or had any tickets. I've paid thousands of dollars in premiums and never filed a claim. My payments were withdrawn from my bank account each month, so no payments were ever late. So how does this company repay me for being their client? They RAISED my rates! When I called to question why my rates were raised, I was told that everyones rates were raised across the board. Customer service agents and supervisors belittled me and treated me like a "dumb consumer" and talked down to me as they tried to spin there way out of why my rates were now higher. I switched to their competitor and am saving over $150 a month! My advice is to always shop around. It appears that since the big CEOs and the company are getting sued they are passing their bad investment practices and fraudelent behavior onto their customers. Don't bail out bad CEO's! In a free market system there are plenty of other insurance companies that actually value their customers.

Strength:

Someone actually answered the phone - after getting through the intro bot

Weakness:

no local staff for claims
limited shops for providing estimates compounding above problem
Not willing to work with car dealerships as reliable estimate providers because they want the cheap fix - will cause intentional delays if you want your car fixed right

Absolutely one of the worst in my opinion, even geico is easier to deal with and I am amazed by that. My corvette was hit while parked by someone with this insurance company. They do not have any employees in my town and will not accept the dealerships quote to fix the car without mailing prices and pictures to Phoenix for review. While they are deciding how much they will pay, they do not consider the car to be out of service and will not provide me with another car. Their insured mashes an unmanned car in a parking lot and they just say too bad it sill rolls. They have changed their story as to what shops are in my area and available to me and want me to drive 20 miles to go to their approved shop when the dealer that services my car is about 1.5 away. They are trying to make me go to their partner company 911 collision - I don't think so. Stay away from them if you can

no spine , no accountability, no personnel, and soon no money

It is hard to respect the rule established on the left side of this column ( do not use profanity) specialy when the service at Liberty is a PROFANITY IN ITSELf, if you doubt it, just try to hold them to their promises of " we'll release the check" or we'll send atow truck to pick up your car.
Definetely they are an OBCENITY of a business disgracing the industry, and I only hope that reality catches up with them and they wil;l be begging for a bail-out

Strength:

The rent a car representative was good, the current auto repair shop good (my first experience with one of Liberty Mutual's recommended shops was a nightmare...they stole items in the car, didn't fix the damage completely and when I complained to a regional representative ..I went to pick up the car and they basically threw the keys at me) and the electronic replacement dept rep very pleasant.

Weakness:

All of the above, RUDE, RUDE, RUDE people and I am convinced they have avoided many many claims by telling people they are not allowed to amend their initial claim to include later discovered damage or stolen items.

LIberty Mutual Insurance....
I have had multiple car claims with Liberty Mutual due to frequent break ins to my cars. EACH time I am assigned to "Team 5" who are apparently a group of individuals to handle your claim. With this most recent claim I reported the break-in before the police arrived. The police told me NOT to enter the car. I clearly said this when reporting the claim. Later I was told that one of the reasons coverage was denied for an item in the car was because I did not itemize it in my initial call. The police report clearly has this item listed. I can't believe that you would be locked into only things listed in your initial call with no right to amend after you have time or the opportunity to investigate.
secondly - I had talked to several claims people that morning and was told if I needed a rent a car to call back and they would arrange for a car to meet me at the auto shop when I brought my car in. I called back and got the rudest person in TEAM 5 who informed me that that was not the was it was done, that I had to wait until I got the shop to confirm that I would need a rent a car (obvious as there was no window and the door wouldn't close all the way!!) then when I tried to explain that I had already been told that they would have a rent a car coming to meet me she accused me of not listening to her, then told me I had an attitude and that I needed to calm down and that she was a claims adjuster and that she knew what she was talking about.
Rudest customer relations ever!!!!

quick and professional. Got my check quick.

I highly recommend Liberty Mutual insurance. I bumped into a pole, damaged the whole front of the my truck (totally my fault). I filed a claim with Liberty Mutual online. Someone called the next day and told me I can sent the car to any collision shop or to one of their certified shops. I decided to send it to someone we know. The estimate was higher than the price of the truck. The adjuster came within 24hours as promised and informed me the truck is totaled. I received a fair price for the truck within 2 weeks. They asked for any receipts I have for any kind of improvement for the car e.g. new tires etc. They were very professional and quick. I thought my annual premium will jump very high. It was an increase of $90 only.

Liberty Mutual is the worst company to have if you have been in an automobile accident. They really suck!!! I still haven't had my claim processed it's been 4 weeks now.
