With all the problems that had happened to me, all the money that I've saved through them was gone into paying them late fees.

So, I guess that's how they're able to offer such a low rate.

Terrible auto payment system. I was screwed over by their stupid payment system.

I was doing fine until they just stopped charging me online, and slapped me with a late fee. I called to correct this problem, but it happened again a month later. I called again to correct this problem again, and nothing was fixed.

My policy was canceled and they mailed me what I owed through a collection agency which again slapped me with another later fee and other fees on top of what I've already owed.

I've paid everything off and canceled my business with them (and let off a little steam). Customer service is friendly, but not very helpful (and probably low educated staff). A simple problem could've been fixed, but I guess it was too hard for them to handle.

Liberty has been nothing but excellent in my time with them. I can call the local office and get everything taken care of that I need. I have had claims, and been paid within 5 days that I filed. Once while with State Farm, I had a claim that took 45 days until I finally recieved a check. My attorney recommends them and has them himself. In fact, I can think of at least 5 family members that are with Liberty that will tell you the same thing...Liberty Mutual is a great insurance company and you not spend you hard earned money elsewhere.

The fact that they have the local offices and the call centers to ask minor billing questions, etc. Also, I have my agent's cell phone number if she is ever needed and I've used it ON A WEEKEND, and got them to answer and help me! Take a look at Kiplingers they actually take how many complaints there are per dollars in premium... It seems that this is just a grip session rather than a true review.

None at this time and I've been with them for 12 years.

I have to say, I've read all these reviews and I have to tell you, the people who are upset probably didn't go to the length to ask questions before they purchased the insurance. Deceptive sales, though there are some, for the most part I've found Liberty Mutual to be very honest in their dealings!!! I've had several claims, not been dropped or had an extreme increase in premium bc of the claims. Come on guys Insurance is a necessary evil, people just get mad because it doesn't go their way or they didn't read their policies right. Admidtly, there are dishonest people out there, but isn't that true in most everything? Liberty has been great, my agent has went to extreme lengths for me. Talk to the local offices, ask how long they've been with the company, test their knowledge and if that's not sufficient, talk to the manager at the local office. Believe me, I have never had a bad dealing with this company! They are great!!!

Nice folks to do business with.....at first. Very friendly on the phone. They have a nice deceiving Sales Pitch, and make you feel like you are getting a great deal.

They do not care at all about their customers. They play tricks on you to get more money from you. Extremely deceiptful.

I was okay with Liberty Mutual Ins. for my auto ins., until all of a sudden they stopped e-billing me. I was unaware that I had missed a payment as I always payed online when I received the e-bill. I am a Traveling Nurse and so my home delivered mail stacks up until I go home for a rare weekend visit. My last visit home, I find a paper mail from Liberty Mutual telling me they canceled my car ins. for non payment! By then, it was too late for me to do anything about it. They couldn't explain to me why they stopped e-billing me. And they told me I would have to buy their "high risk" ins. and pay it all up front! I told them no thank you, I would find another company to insure my car. In a very threatening manner, they told me I would have to buy high risk ins. from any other company because of the lapse in my insurance and that other companies would find out that I was guilty of allowing my insurance to lapse! I found another company...and I saved money on my insurance as well. ;^) While I was a customer of Liberty Mutual, I also tried to get Renters Ins., but for some reason, they could never figure out how to send me the Policy, after 3 attempts to buy Renters Ins. with them, I gave up!!
I wouldn't recommend Liberty Mutual to anyone after this.

I made the mistake of buying "protection" from Liberty Mutual. When I had a claim on my home owner policy they sent out a guy to examine the floors in my ouse. We had a water pipe burst while we were gone on vacation. I don't know how long the leak lasted but the water was pouring from under our front door. When I reported the claim Liberty Mutual sent out an "adjuster". We had already rented large fans to blow the water stink and excess water out. We were not reimbursed for that. Then when he finally condescened to walk through the house he kept picking out little spots and saying, "We'll pay to patch that or this". Naturally, these areas were out the open and easily accessed. The entire floor got soaked and yet he refused to see that or admit it when it was pointed out to him. I have spent over $13,000 ouf of my own pocket and doing the work myself due to LIberty Mutual's refusal to do right or even to listen.
Instead, Liberty Mutual paid off the state insurance department. How could it be otherwise? They refused to listen or even look at the mess. I also have the added expense of replacing all of the flooring in my home. Funny thing, once water get under a laminate floor the sub-floor deteriorates even faster that it does under carpet.
My point is this. Liberty MUtual is NOT a company that cares about anything but its profit margin.

I HAVE DUMPED THEM AS MY CARRIER AND YOU SHOULD TOO!! Since the Bible says do to others what you want done to you, then beware of Liberty Mutual! They will screw you over! They do it because they know that they can get away with it! Sounds pretty un-American to me! You decide for yourself!!!!!!

I have been covered by LM since 1952 and find that they have been most courtiest in my dealings and have honored each of the 2 possibly 3 claims I have had in those many years.

Liberty Mutual is the worst insurance I've ever had. The refused to pay for damage incurred during an accident (claiming it was prior existing..it wasn't). Getting information over the phone is next to impossible, they refuse to provide the names of supervisors, and hardly anyone will call you back when you leave a message. I STRONGLY urge anyone thinking of going with Liberty Mutual to go elsewhere.

smooth ride

Too many problems. I had to have another transmission replace because it gets stuck to 2nd gear. At one time i had a flood in my car coz something got stuck in the evaporator. This is my second radio replaced. Hmmm...whats else..a lot more. And to think of it i only have this car for 2 years.
