lots of torque, strong pull... chip not as hard on your car as the GIAC chip. chip switch is nice for bring the car back to dealer.
Weakness:
worried about the life of the turbo..i guess thats for all chips that raise the boost Just bought the APR 93 Oct program along with the stock chip switch. One word AMAZING!!! Tonnes of torque comes on like a rocket at 3700 rpm. I have tonnes of fun driving the car. My only concern is how long will my stock turbo last? I guess the main thing will be to let the turbo cool, and let the turbo warm up before driving. The idle is smooth like stock. When driving non aggressively the car acts like stock until you rev up to 4700-6000 rpm...wow Similar Products Used: none |

Weakness:
Should upgrad BPV, high boost usually requires a better valve The best upgrade for you Audi/VW 1.8T engine hands down. Its like i own another car, great power 2nd thru 5th. This is how the car shoulda come! I wanna go APR Stage 3+ next 310hp 345lbs torque! APR is a great tuner. Similar Products Used: MTM Stage I |

Lots and lots of torque, much more power in every gear. This is the most amazing product that I have ever put into a car. It makes the A4 1.8 T into a rocket. I also installed a new diverter Valve to help cut lag between shifts and improve turbo life, and added the airfilter and opened the engine compartment a bit. The car flies now. Well worth every penny spent. Raced an M3 tonight and got a shocked look from his face when I kept up very surprisingly. |

Strength:
Power and torque curve dramatically improved. The chipped to stock on/off feature is great.
Weakness:
none WOW! Bought a 2001 GTI with 18,000 miles. I loved the engine. Was thinking about buying a new 2002 because of the 30 h.p. increase. Decided I''d save the money and "chip" the 2001. The car is now amazing! Pulls in every gear. Incredible passing and hole shot performance. I own an Audi S6 Avant, but I keep stealing my son''s GTI. That says it all. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
this chip ads alot of torque and much needed hp. The switching between stock and chip is also nice.
Weakness:
For some odd reson my check engin light repeatedly comes on and i had to take it to the dealership to reset the code.. It's just a boost sensor in side that broke.... besides that its worth the money. this chip is just worth the money and can go the distance.. Similar Products Used: None |

Great horsepower increase.
Weakness:
Wish Cali had better gas. I have had the chip for about 35,000 miles and no real problems. It runs and drives great. APR has great customer service and free software upgrades. Would definitely by from them again. Have had some minor problems but I can't say if they are from the chip. All were warrantied anyway. Definately get the spare ECU for warranty reasons. Best performance if accompanied with and exaust and new filter. Recently went on a drive with a few S4's and had no problems staying with them threw the turns. Similar Products Used: Drove my friends car with the Wetteraurer chip and it felt good. His car will probably be as quick as mine once he gets an exaust and filter. I think both are good choices. I like the fact that the Wett chip is socketed which makes it a lot more cost effective than by a spare ECU. |
