Goodyear Eagle RS-A Tires

Goodyear Eagle RS-A Tires

DESCRIPTION

Goodyear designed the Eagle RS-A to excel in all conditions, and part of the success is the unique asymmetrical tread design. It delivers traction in the dry, wet and snow with consistent effectiveness. And premium sidewall styling means the RS-A looks as good as it performs.

GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A

P205/55R16 (for my car)

I own a 2004 Chevy Caviler, which I bought in April 2004. These particular tires were the tires that came 'stock' with my car, when i purchased it. My car now has 70,134 miles on it... and there still is a wee bit of tread on them. I am a typical female, who rarely gets her tires rotated, (maybe 2 times???) and i drive my car for my job. (A nurse for Home Health)I have had all 4 of my tires plugged though, one in each tire (just my luck). I have had these tires through the rain/show/sleet/ice... like i said.. my job involves being out in every weather condition, at all hours, everyday.

Overall, these tires are still holding on!!!! WONDERFUL PRODUCT!!!

100% will be buying the same tire again this coming week when I am buying new tires!!

I reccomend these tires for any car, well whatever they can fit/be used on!

Strength:

hugs well at high speeds, low noise, good in rain.

Weakness:

treadlife is way too short

I've had the Goodyear Eagle RSA's on since i bought my impala in March. I push my car to the limit everyday, since its a police package impala, i figured it could take it. I've had no issues with the tires though, they hug the road so well, i can usually do about 90mph+ going through a turn. They handle pretty well in the rain also, i had the utmost confidence in my tires. guess its just me. as far as tread life, thats another issue. i got the vehicle with great tread life, i kinda forgot to have the tires rotated every 3k miles, so now i have 2 worn tires and 2 decent ones. i've only driven about 20k on them and its a wrap for the front 2. but if i could catch these tires for a good price, i'd definitely grab another set.

Strength:

VERY Good traction on snow and ice. I was able to drive when other cars were sliding all over the place. However, this could have been the traction control on the car as much as it was the tires.

Weakness:

Not ready for prime time yet. Worst tires I have ever owned.

The tires were good in the snow, but were a disappointment otherwise. The side-wall wore out before the tread did, so I need to replace them while there is still tread left on them, or put up with load, wheel-bearing like noise until the tread wears out. I replaced the tires with another brand, and the wheel noise completely disappeared. These tires leak like sieves, so carry a tire pump with you at all times - you will need to pump them up at least once a week, and once they get a little wear in them, more than once a week. They are very subject to flats. You will be repairing one of them once a month or more, so carry a tire-plugging set with you.

Strength:

It's never to early to replace these tires.

Weakness:

Wet Weather driving, Tread life,

I would have to say that these are the worst tire's I've ever owned. The main reason I say that is because of the amazing ability they have to Hydroplane, I've done a 720 on the freeway once, and felt the tires lift off the pavement many other times. I don't speed and I've owned many other tires that never performed like this.
I've had two tires replaced because of busted belts. The tread life is absolutely absurd. I will never buy another Goodyear tire. If a new car comes with these tires I won't buy it either. I am replacing with Toyo's that get much better reviews.

I have had a great experience with the RS-A eagles. I have put 65,000 miles on these tires over 5 years. I do highway driving as well as city driving. They have been great in all kinds of weather especially rain. I don't understand why everyone has had problems with them. I am buying 4 new one tires tomorrow.

Attractive appearence.

Weakness:

So noisy it sounds like bad wheel bearings. Dealer confirms the noise comes from the tires.

Very disapointed with annoying road noise from these tires, especially on a such a nice car. Passengers have questioned the noise to me many times.I have complained to the dealer and was told its the low profile tires.

None! I live near the Goodyear plant at Kelly Springfield and I've been informed of a recent change in who they purchase rubber from!

Crap! Tires lasted less than a year and 15,000 miles on a 2003 Honda with perfect alignment. Never buy a Warranty and I don't care what they way about being rated as 50,000 to 60,000 miles they are lieing!!!!

Weakness:

GARBAGE!!!! My RSA's are cracked on the sidewall and I only have 28,700 on my Maxima SE. ALL FOUR of my tires are cracked on the sides. Goodyear also offered me 50% prorated value. They KNOW these tires are garbage. I would like to see the NTSB step in on this one. First word that comes to mind? FIRESTONE.....anyone remember their tires?
