Strength:

They are black and round

Weakness:

Leaked from day one
Are loud on dry pavement
Premature wear
Not safe

The 2 rear tires wore out on the inside and I drive a front wheel car.
About 1/4 of the tire tread looked like a slick.
These tire had no more than 15,000 miles on them. The tire dealer said it must be the car even though the tires that came with the car were fine and nothing has changed on the car.
I would not recommend these tires unless your sleeping with your tire dealer.

Strength:

Don't know - they're too new to tell.

Weakness:

Two of 3 were destroyed in normal driving conditions within 5 months.

VERY DANGEROUS

Last August (5 months ago) I purchased 3 of these tires. In Dec. (4 months later) a slight tap on a curb created a huge gauge in the tire that made it go completely flat within 2 seconds.

Today (5 months after purchase) I noticed two places in another tire where the rubber is gauged out - however this time not right through -- yet.

In 35 years of driving I've never had a single tire problem.

THESE TIRES ARE DANGEROUS. I highly recommedn that you do not buy them.

Strength:

Long lasting tread life, acceptable levels of grip in poor weather conditions, good ride quallity (until now).

Weakness:

Dry-rotting, performance of these tires seemed to deteriorate all of a sudden.

These tires came with my Nissan when I purchased it in March 2002 w/38k miles. My car now has 70k miles and there is still substantial tread left. These tires have been very good so far but are now showing signs of dry-rotting and there is more road noise and a slight vibration present. I have had these tires rotated every 7500 hundred miles and have been very pleased with them until recently. Traction in wet weather, ice and snow has been fair. I will probably be looking at replacing them with a set of Kumho tires. I still recommend these over the more pricey Goodyear or Firestone models from horrible past experiences with those "overrated" tires.

Strength:

good in rain

Weakness:

Severe tread seperation after 20,000 miles and only two years of use...DANGEROUS!

I live in northwest Florida, and I bought these tires two years ago because we have such downpours of rain here...21,000 miles and two years later I have had severe tread seperation on these 225/60TR16 Lifeliner STE tires...tremendous vibration all of a sudden...no recall... even though there are pending lawsuits against Cooper due to accidents caused by blowouts on this tires, they changed out the tires to Lifeliner SLE Touring tires but I do not feel comfortable having them on my car. I had the previous tires balanced and rotated every 3,000 miles and the problem wasn't even discussed with me. It starts out by losing small quantities of air in the tires for no apparent reason due to the seperation of the tread from the sidewall.have someone independent check them out immediately.

Strength:

Long tread life-Durability

Weakness:

Tendency to sqeal on tight cornering at times.

Bought my 1996 Grand Caravan SE off-lease with new Lifeliners at 38,000 miles. The van now has 118,000 miles and stll wears the Lifeliners, and though they ar not bald , they are being replaced presently. They have performed well in Northeast winters, very hot summers, and have carried large loads or light loads very well. There has been some tendency to 'squeal' on corners, it is true, but I have never felt uneasy about their handling ability in country or congested city driving. The long wear and lack of any problems causes me to recommend them highly.

Model Reviewed: Cooper Lifeliner Classic II car tires

Strength:

Dry weather adhesion was similar to other brands. Long tread life. Cooper brand name reputation?

Weakness:

Hard compound makes for terrible wet weather performance. Made my car handle like a Willy's Jeep on pavement! Narrower tread patch than other similar sized tires. Too much road noise and feel transmitted to the vehicle from hard compound. Leastly, even as new, the tires were not really very attractive to look at.

Long story longer: I purchased a used 1995 Mitsubishi Diamante LS in excellent condition from a car dealer in Chicago, after my wife had a minor accident in our 1994 Diamante LS, which, incidentally, had to be "totalled" by the insurance company due to the exhorbitant prices for replacement air-bag parts. That said; the 1994 Diamante was always an excellent car that we dearly loved, and hated to part with, especially, since the accident damage seemed quite minimal. So, I set out to buy another Diamante with the insurance money. Our previous Diamante LS had excellent tires (Maxxis I think), which provided great handling in all weather conditions and also provided over 60K miles of service before the accident. The replacement car had four, brand new, Cooper Lifeliner Classic IIs. The Coopers looked to be fine tires, and, in dry weather they seemed to handle OK, but perhaps more "road-feel" and noise than I was accustomed to. Coopers reputation as a quality tire manufacturer had me thinking they were going to be just fine. However, they were not. As soon as the pavement became wet with rain, I noticed the tires main fault --Terrible wet weather adhesion. On a cloverleaf doing the posted speed limit, I felt the car's front end slide-out about three or four feet from under it!!! That had NEVER happened before with our 1994 Diamante shod with Maxxis tires. Perhaps there is some credit to the fact that I was able to test the Cooper tires against the Maxxis tires, on two virtually identical cars. Even though the tires are brand-new, I am going to replace them with another brand. My wife and two year old daugher ride in the Diamante, and I will not compromise their safety with these tires! Perhaps Cooper makes another model with better adhesion, but I'm a little hesitant to go back to Cooper, especially with all the choices out there these days. To be fair, these tires are probably considered to be "touring" tires, built for long tread life, and they may excel at that purpose. So, bear that in mind, too when considering these tires.

Strength:

It rolls. It''s not expensive. It''s fairly quiet and offers a comfortable ride.

Weakness:

Squeals around corners, especially highway exits and entrances. My van leans more than it ever has because of it. I really would not put another set on my van, or any other car for this reason. Also, I don''t care what anyone says these tires are below average in the rain and snow. Accelerate around a corner leading up a hill the the front tires spin and spin before finally gripping. Stop quickly in the rain and they tend to skid more than I''m used to tires doing. In snow they are about as bad as in the rain. Below average from my perspective. They don''t grip, they don''t stop, you don''t get a sure footed feeling in the winter. I''m sure there are worse tires, but I''m sure there are better tires. My STE Lifeliners (mounted on my 97 LHS)are better in the rain and snow, and are INFINITELY better around corners as they are resistend to rolling over and squealing.

Simple. ON my 1994 Voyager the Coopers offer a fairly smooth and quiet ride, but it has serious issues.

Strength:

Excellent wet/dry traction, excellent grip on corners, attractive blackwall styling, long tread life rating

Weakness:

soft side walls cause car to feel somewhat unsure feeling in sharp corners and give mild oversteer for highway corrections, mild "tire whine" on concrete surfaces

I bought these after a very possitive experience with Cooper Trendsetter tires. I actually wanted Cobra''''s but they don''''t make them in the size I needed, so I decided to try these instead. I feel somewhat let down by these tires after a very possitive experience with the cheaper Trendsetter. The fronts have to be pumped up to the maximum rating to keep the tread flat (good thing I don''''t have a heavy car) and the handling isn''''t as "crisp" as the Firestones they replaced. The most annoying thing though is there is now a bit of oversteer with small corrections at highway speeds and the car leans slightly in agressive corners. I''''m attributing all these problems to side walls that are on the soft side. They also tend to whine on concrete surfaces but not unacceptably so. Otherwise, they have excellent wet/dry traction and cornering abilities. Even with the slight cornering lean I have yet to have them break loose or even squeel on agressive cornering, but it does cause the car to feel a bit unsure until you get used to it. They are superior in every way to Firstone Affinities they replaced (what isn''''t??) once you adjust to the handling. The Lifeliner Classic II''''s would seem to be very good "touring" tires which is the function they are sold for. In fact, if the handling were better these might be classified as performance tires. They seem to have the rest of it right.

Strength:

Great handling and long lasting and very durable.

Weakness:

none except that it doesn't look like a tire that could perform the way it does.

This is a very good tire considering that its meant to be a basic value all season tire. I am surprised you can get this tire in a performance size. I have 205/55 R16 for my Talon. I got nearly 300hp in my car and these tires really deliver some nice performance. I realize I have AWD and I can accelerate very fast with any type of tires but these tires really GRIP! Handling is very good and its really good in the rain. The tires are S rated but I have gone 140 mph on these tires more than a few times. They last long and give the car a nice responsive feel. All my friends got high performance Yokohamas and Dunlops on their cars and they paid big money for them. I paid a very good price and feel like I got more than what I paid for. These tires are also built very strong. I have gone over some nasy pot holes while accelerating and there are no signs of bruising. I highly recomend this tire to anyone not willing to spend the big bucks.
