Sumitomo HTRZ Tires

Sumitomo HTRZ Tires

DESCRIPTION

A confident performer on wet and dry surfaces, the Sumitomo HTRZ takes the stresses and the loads of race track speeds in stride. The offset V directional tread pattern efficiently removes water from the contact patch and prevents hydroplaning. They're available in 15-17 inch sizes.

Strength:

Looks good and roadside package

Weakness:

bubbles, undectable flaws

The tires were good looking and came with a road hazard package. The tire bubbled in about 4 sections without me noticing and then blew from the inside of the wheel while the outside remained intact.

Strength:

None I can think of

Weakness:

Treadware life, wet driving

Tires were the worst I ever bought in 35 years. Got a total of 32K miles, slid all over in heavy rain. Just took them off and will never buy this brand again

Similar Products Used:

Michelin, Goodyear, Goodrich, Continental and there is more I can`t think of right now.

Strength:

Good looking, made in Japan (should be quality product)

Weakness:

Skidding on wet curves at moderate speed

Purchsed a set of 4 tires for 1993 Corolla DX about 2 years ago. They are good on dry pavement, but are not so on wet ones, especially on highway ramps - skidding - almost lost control of the front wheels twice at moderate speed.

Similar Products Used:

BF Goodrich, Fuzion, Goodyear (better tires)

Strength:

great wet and dry and even snow handling. I think they own dunlop so technology is shared

Weakness:

noisy when cold, squeals before limits are encountered, tread wear suffers and must be rotated religeously, hard to keep balanced

90.00 dollars a tire. yes, but be prepared for lots of rotations

dunlop D40m2 and dunlop sp8000 very competative

Strength:

-the traction was/is great
-no severe signs of wear yet
-$100 each for low profile? can't be beat

Weakness:

they give "dignity to mediocrity".
they're not pirellis.
but then, they don't claim to be.

these came as part of a set of aftermarket rims i had puchased about a 13 or 14 months ago. the jet black low pro rubber wrapped around the gleaming chrome from the day i recieved them to present. i have yet to receive any blow outs, flats, or problems whatsoever with this set (knock on wood).

the traction and grip is very good in the various types of weather we tend to get here in jersey (everything from freezing snow to torrential rain, summer rush hour stop and go traffic, back to freezing snow).

eagle, hydro guard, etc.
