Toyo Proxes S/T Tires

Toyo Proxes S/T Tires

DESCRIPTION

The Toyo Proxes S/T delivers a powerful combination of high performance and increased load indexes designed specifically for today's very popular sport-utility vehicles. In other words, great looks and handling that can carry the load, too. Not to mention, all-season capability to boot. And all with a smooth, quiet ride. They're available in 15, 17 and 18 inch sizes.

Strength:

Durability, handling, all weather conditions

We installed the Toyo Process tires on my Denali when it was new, and I just replaced them at 64,000 miles! Incredible tire, even in deep snow. I used a wider than stock profile and coupled with the weight and AWD of the Denali, they have handled all conditions with no problems.

Control, comfort, looks

Weakness:

humming noise during braking, and speeds below 70mph

These tires ride awesome, grip insanely well on wet roads. They are smooth as can be, not mushy AT ALL! They completely transformed my ride back to new, actually better than new. The truck used to feel scary as hell on wet roads with the Michelins. AAAAA+++++++

Model Reviewed: Toyo Proxes TR-1

Strength:

Grip in dry and wet conditions.

Weakness:

After two weeks my two tires blew on a pothole. I've heard of similiar problems from owners of TR-1's. If you do buy these be sure to get Road Hazard Protection. Luckily my tire blew on the street, be warned these can be dangerous if you don't drive on perfect roads.

Good on turns, rain, dry weather. Doesn't peel out easy so it's great for street racing.

Weakness:

Car came equipped with Goodyear Intergity tires. I have had to replace all four tires. Each tire had a bulge occur on the rim of tire. Dealer would not replace tires. Have anyone else had a similar problem? Please reply.

When I purchased this car there was a problem with the heater blower. This was replaced. Now have a recurrance of this problem.

Strength:

Aggressive V-Tread, Remarkable dry handling, as well as wet, adequate snow performance, road noise is not bad as well.

Weakness:

I have not found any weaknesses yet, but I have heard that the tread life of these tires are below average. For the price, you can't beat this tire!

I bought the 255/60/17. My first impressions of the tire as they sat on the ground of the local tire dealership was that they looked great. They looked even better when they were mounted on to my Jeep! The aggressive V-Tread pattern gives the tire a remarkable dry and wet handling. Since my Jeep is highly modified for performance, I needed a tire that could handle the speed in the dry, rip through the water in the wet, and be adequate in the snow.

Strength:

Quiet, smooth and seem to have lots og grip in the dry. Haven't tried them in the wet. I threw the Pilot around a parking lot far harder than I should have and while I got them to squeal, they held on beautifully. Great on the highway on an SUV.

Weakness:

Absolutely none that I can find.

My wife's new Honda Pilot came stock with 235/70/16 Goodyear Integrity tires, which I thought were horrible. I put on 255/55/18's, with the result a much smoother and tighter ride. They are quiet and smooth as can be, despite what some local dealers who did not stock the tire told me. I've always run top of the line Michelins or Pirellis, but loved the look of this tire. THey feel a lot like the Dunlop 9000s on my Audi A6 2.7T. Don't even think twice about it - just do it.
