DESCRIPTION

The Fernada Pires da Silva Circuit is more commonly known as the Estoril Circuit, because of its location in Estoril, Portugal. The 4.182 km long circuit was built in 1972 and modified in 1994 to include the famous Variante chicane which is now one of the slowest corners in the MotoGP World Championship. The Estoril Race Track is a well-established venue on the Formula I circuit. It has staged six successive Portuguese Grand Prix after making its name as the venue for the Portuguese Formula One Grand Prix and as a testing circuit for the Formula One teams.
