Review 2 of 115

Price Paid:  $18000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 LS V6

Summary:
This car is the cheapest "eye-turner" you'll find. Seriously, MX-6s are so rare on the roads, everyone turns to see yours. GET IT WITH THE SPOILER...it looks like a Ford Probe without a spoiler, and we don't want that now, do we?

No anti-lock brakes, though, for obvious sport handling reasons. But the 4-disc will lock the tires in a hurry at high speeds, so watch it. Front-wheel drive affords better control, as well as more weight over the drive wheels. This car is light - it would spin out with rear-wheel drive.

Second gear has all the power you'll need, from 15mph all the way up to 50. "It's my favorite gear!" You'll feel it sink you back in your seat once you reach 3000. I love popping the clutch at 3200rpm and rocketing off the line after a brief chirp of the tires.

Strengths:
Handles like a wet dream!!!
Smooth, quick, responsive V6.
Will not break down.

Weaknesses:
Loose, notchy feeling in the transmission (manual)
Power windows need a lot more power
Heavy clutch

Toyota Celica - MX-6 is faster and quieter. Celica is less jarring on bumps.

Review 3 of 115

Price Paid:  $12000.00

Summary:
Ever since I saw it parked on the side of a road I wanted it. I haven't regretted buying it yet. I paid $20,000 CDN for it, and added a few things to it. But it is hard to find ground effects for the Mx-6, especially in Victoria.

Strengths:
I love the speed. I beat so many cars off the line. I love the fact that it is so different from Hondas and Acuras and so much better looking. And the fact that it is not a common car, but it still looks sweet. I haven't had any problems with the fact that it is automatic. I wanted standard but this car is so perfect I couldn't pass it up. For anyone who wants a fast, sporty and different looking car. Pay the wee bit extra and buy the Mx-6 over the Probe. So much better in so many ways.

Weaknesses:
My power windows make horrible squeeking noises that remind me of fingers down a chalkboard. I am not sure why it does that yet.
I can't find body kits for it.

Review 4 of 115

Year / Model Reviewed:
1997 Mazda MX-6 LS

Summary:
I was initailly looking for a used car, but managed to get a good deal on a new one (manual + leather) since the dealer needed to make room on the lot. Since then I've never had ANY regrets about getting this car. It may not beat a Porche 911 at a light but has enough power to get the job done. In the looks department I think there are few cars that can compete. It's so curvy that friends have called it my red headed girlfriend.

Love driving this car on winding mountain roads.

Strengths:
Great handeling
Sexy looks

Weaknesses:
Tiny back seat
Unable to adjust steering wheel
