Price Paid:  $18000.00 from ga

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 premier awd

Summary:
The montego is based of the volvo s80, which means is has solid handling, and has great safety features. the awd system is also from volvo. has an cvt transmission which is smooth and is a top-end performer on the open road. the car actually has european feel to it.build quality is very good. doesn't feel or drive like most large american made cars.

Strengths:
awd, hid standard headlights, large trunk, plenty of passenger room front back, heated seats and side mirrors.self-leveling shocks that improve handling and prevent sagging rear end when loaded with people and cargo. cvt transmission is the best feature, it allows the montego to go toe-toe with cars with more horsepower. i already dusted a chrysler 300 with it 250hp v6, mine is rated at 203hp no gear shifts make a difference in a race. feel like a small block v8 when you mash the pedal. has factory 18inch tires, but look better with aftermarket 20in or 22in wheels. the car is inexpensive to fix due to being a ford product, compaired to volvo"even though they are owned by ford" and volkswagen dealerships.

Weaknesses:
weak 2003 hp engine, saved by cvt transmission. ford recommended regular octane gas is not practical. runs better off-the line on 89, but get better gas mileage with 91. looks plain with factory 18in wheels, need wheels that are more stylish to stand out.
