Price Paid:
$18000.00 Year / Model Reviewed: 1998 200SX SE-R Summary: This is a long term follow-up on my earlier review when my car was new. This car gets better with use and is now three years old. It is faster, handles better, and stops shorter than when new. And, it was mighty good when new. those of you who missed it when it was available, eat your heart out. Those of you who have one, keep it for at least one hundred thousand miles. This car is a friend for the long run. I can afford the more luxurious and costly competition, but why pay for that when I have this enjoyable and sturdy performer? Not a single problem in three years. For the driver who wants performance, handling, reliability, and economy in a very useful sport coupe configuration, this car is it. Strengths: Reliability, handling, performance, acceleration, front seat room and comfort, many amenities for an econo sport coupe. Very good air/heat system, fast and powerful. Weaknesses: Really crappy sound system, even if you get the so-called premium version with the SE-R package of upgrades. The speakers were trash and the head unit, made by Clarion, is real junk. Replaced with Blaupunkt Nevada(mot very good), an a/d/s/ amp (fantastic), and MB Quart speakers(the best out out there). Poor turning radius, true of many Nissan models. Cheapo interior treatment Similar Products Used: The only rival is the 2001 Sentra SE (which has the same lovely engine), maybe the Infiniti G20 for more posh and cash.
