Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 Altima

Summary:
I work for a Nissan dealership and the Altima isn't all that in terms of refinement, roominess and quality. This car is too hyped up and Nissan did a nasty job with the styling of the coupe and sedan. The overall interior appointments are abysmal and the 2002-2006 Altima's were roomier and better to look at.

Strengths:
3.5L V6 Engine and suspension, that is about it.

Weaknesses:
2.5L (noisy and buzzing), CVT (feels like the car is struggling), interior front and rear headroom don't quite match the Accord, Camry and Sonata. Annoying push start (too gimicky and it doesn't work well). Interior quality is below par. The coupe has the worse interior appointments and I have to say when I drove this car it felt so hallow and it was noisier than other sedans in its class.

Price Paid:  $26000.00 from Star Nissan

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 2.5 SL

Summary:
Well, I hate it!!! This is my first brand new car and also the first Japaneese car. What a piece of crap! Well, maybe its not so bad for most people, but there could be nothing worse to me than rattles and all kind of strange sounds this car makes. I like good sounding music in the car so I bought one with Bose. The system itself is average but Altima makes it sound like crap, seriously the worst I've ever had. Maybe its just this particular unit, but I would rather drive my 2002 Passat or my stick shift '96 2.8 Audi A4 or even the long gone 94 BMW 325. Conclusion: NEVER again I'll buy Nissan or any non-luxury Japaneese car for that matter.

Review 3 of 309

Price Paid:  $21655.00 from West Covina

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Altima/ 2.5S

Summary:
I would like to express my feeling as a first time Nissan owner. The car itself is great, but its been an awful experience as a Nissan owner. Ever since i purchased my car about a month ago, my car has been giving me nothing but problems, and the dealer where i purchased my car from does not care about retaining their customer after they make their sales. I'm very upset with the way they do business and how my car was delivered to me. Just today, the windshield fluid light went on, i checked and sure enough there was no fluid in there. I've also noticed the coolant fluid was low too. I didn't expect this from a brand new car. I looked at my delivery checklist and it was marked that all the fluid was full, and now a month later, why should the fluid be on low or empty ?I can't stress enough that this is the worst car buying experience ever. Nissan dealerships really need to look into improving customer retention and customer satisfaction other than filling out a survey. There's no point of having a good product when there is no customer service to support it. So far I've been to 3 Nissan dealerships and only one dealership cared to retain my business and sad enough to say this is not the dealership where i purchased my car from.

***think twice before buying this car****
this is my fist and last NISSAN!!! Terrible customer service, both the dealerships and Nissan North America, they keep expressing how important it is to
make their customer's happy, that's just pure BS. They could care less for your business.

Strengths:
roomy,175 Horsepower,and looks nice.

Weaknesses:
BAD mileage,loud engine noise,cheap radio,easily dent,and VERY sensitive break.

2000 Honda Accord

Price Paid:  $25000.00 from NLR Nisan

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Nissan Altima 3.5SE

Summary:
I fell in love with this car when id rove it, but to save a few dollars I decided to have leather interiro added instead of purchasing w/leather-BIG MISTAKE. Upon recieveing my car after instillation one of the consoles doesn't close. Returned to have that fixed. Then my inside door handle just came off one day-returned to have that fixed. 2 hours later a child opens the door-comes off again-now I have to take tim eoff work and go again-VERY DISAPPOINTING, but not as disappointing as the lack of concern the dealer has. Once your money is taken or your contract is signed they could care less. That is very unfortunate. Otherwise, I love the car, but I probably won't buy another one from them-EVER and no recommendations.

Strengths:
Speed, tire size, owner acesibility

Weaknesses:
a little noisier than I thought, stereo is not that good (I do not have the bose system)

Similar Products Used:
none

Review 5 of 309

Price Paid:  $31000.00 from Avenue Road Nissan

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Altima 2.5SL

Summary:
My wife’s 1999 Camry was due for a replacement. We looked around for Camry LE V6, Altima 2.5SL and Honda CRV which are in the similar price range. We also test drove Camry 4 and RAV4 which were noisy and lack of power. The CRV was rules out as the interior was too plain (the ride was Okay though). The final decision comes down to the Camry LE V6 and Altima 2.5SL (both are new models for 2007). We picked the Altima 2.5SL for the following considerations:
1. Altima was quieter and the engine is just as responsive as the Camry V6.
2. Much better value - It is fully loaded where as the Camry every thing is optional ($2K+). It is recognized, however, Toyota has better overall resale value.
3. My previous ownership experience with Maxima and Pathfinder.

It has 8,000 km on it and its still running as day 1. Gas mileage is so and so. We are very satisfied.

Strengths:
Value, smooth ride and power.

Similar Products Used:
Maxima, Camry V6
