Great car- Only car I've owned for 8 years and still runs great with almost 200k on it. dependable and fun
Weakness:
a little noisey, and it leaks a little which makes it a little smelly 13,600 back in 1992. I love this car and will always have one Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Everything. I used to have a MGB, so I knew what to expect.
Weakness:
lack of sound insulation for trunk (i fixed this, dynamat at Crutchfield) Leased it for 3 years, bought it at the end. Never had a better car (MGB (2), VW, Ford, Volvo (2), Datsun, Honda (2)). Why do I love this car? Because it makes my commutes fun. I have never had a bad ride. It amazes me that a car can be such an extension of the body - a mind extension willing to do anything. Climbs hills with aplomb, but slow from a stop. It's amazing to me those who compare this car with others costing 10 -20 thousand more! Aftermarket parts will make it into any performance you want - e.g. 3000 gets 60 more horsepower thru a supercharger. Suspension, exhaust, air intake, sound, seats, dash updates are common. The stock version GETS YOU LOW INSURANCE RATES! Get a used one, and add 6000 to it: have a ball. And other Miata drivers wave! Clubs and rallys exist. There is a Miata magazine! Similar Products Used: MGB (2 of them) the miata is air tight, absolutely dependable, a joy to tinker with, easy to change, perfect |

Strength:
This car was an impulse purchase. Who could resist it's great looks? Boys yell "love your car" as you pass! Comfortable ride for a sports car, great handling, nice stereo, enough horsepower for the most part, rear defogger on 99 glass rear window a plus, tons of fun to drive!!!!! New body style is awsome & some interior improvements, like redesigning the center console, make for a more comfortable ride.
Weakness:
Road noise, awkward cup holder location makes it nearly useless, trunk is tiny, of course, & I've had problems with the seal on the rear window. Engine could use a bit more zip. As a petite female, I need to get out & use 2 arms to raise the top. Paid 24K (I think) for the Leather package. It's a great sports car for the money. Best as a 2nd or 3rd family car due to limited cargo & passenger space. Otherwise, pop the top & enjoy! Similar Products Used: Mazda RX7. Preferred it's "hatchback" to trunk on the Miata |

Strength:
Handling, reliability, looks, quickness, other owners wave at you, only takes a minute to wash
Weakness:
Radio, trunk space, road noise, you'll probably lose in a head-on crash with a chevy suburban What a fun car! This is what driving is all about. Those who complain about the so called lack of power need to cut back on the caffeine. The car is fast enough. Anyways, it's all about the handling and that would be shot to hell if they made it faster. |

Leather Package
Strength:
Handling, price, low maintenance costs, reliability, ride comfort, FUN!!
Weakness:
Seats, storage space, cup holders This car is an affordable top-down sports car with handling to match nearly anything on the road. Power is up from the first generation Miata with a noticeable improvement in low-end torque, but still needs improvement to compete as a true sprots car. Top operation is as effortless as ever and can easily be operated with one hand. The lack of a power top is an asset to this car since one is not needed and the extra weight would hinder performance. Strength:
Great styling, great shifting, responsive steering, grips the road like a bubblegum on hot pavement. easy to use top and the glass rear window and defrost are a plus. smooth shifting...it is simply a great car to own and I always look forward to getting in and driving it, even to commute!
Weakness:
trunk space is still pretty tight. cup holders in armrest just don't hack it. could use a little more power. i've had this car for over a year now and it is, IMHO, the best sports car for the money. it is reliable as any other japanese car, but i feel it also captures the spirit of the old british roadsters...without the mechanical hassle. it is pure pleasure to drive. Too much fun! Love this car the day I bought, still love it. Have had a blast getting mods for the vehicle (inflatable lumbar adjuster, aftermarket headrest speakers, Orvis windblocker, door trim, interior lights, twilights, running lights, oversized door speakers, etc.) Check out www.miata.net for the skinny on mod recommendations.
Weakness:
Tiny trunk (though I have gone carcamping with my fiancee- pack light!) Underpowered Plastic rear window kinda blows (but if you leave the top down year round, its not an issue!) The Miata is way too much fun. I continue to be amazed by how much I enjoy driving this car. My commute totally sucks (41 miles each way in heavy traffic). The Miata is so much fun, it makes the drive bearable. Great car for tinkerers with all the aftermarket mods available from Serious Auto, Dealer Alternative, Moss Motors and others. Strength:
Price, retro looks, incredible handling, typical Japanese high build quality and long-term durability, holds it value and very cheap to maintain. Manual top drops/raises in 5 seconds - 99s come stock w glass rear window (older ones can be upgraded)
Weakness:
Underpowered when compared to similar roadsters (which cost 50% more to 3x as much, however eg: Z3, S2000, Boxster, Elan), only 2 seats with a small trunk Mazda still delivers the best value in a roadster-sportscar on the market - hands down. Keep in mind that when the car came out, only the ZR1 and a few Supercars scored as high as the Miata on the skidpad (these cars have been joined by a few others in recent years). Those skidpad numbers only work when the Miata is doing slower, Autocross- style driving and thus it is an exceptional car for city driving, and on very tight mountain roads. Strength:
handling, reliability, timeless design, wind in hair, low cost, low maintenance, fun, fun, fun
Weakness:
somewhat tight seating, radio loses to wind noise (but who cares when the top is down) This is the ultimate, low cost, sports car. I've had it ten years and now it goes on to my son. I still get a smile on my face when I drive it. You owe it to yourself to own this car, if only to re-awaken your love of motoring. No, it's not a street dragster. But it handles like it's part of the driver. The most enjoyable car for the money, bar none. Similar Products Used: 1967 Camaro SS350 |

Strength:
Looks Great. Handles like a dream. Love the sound of the engine. The top is great and goes up and down quickly and with great ease. My model has more trunk and storage room than I expected. I always seem to be able to fit whatever I need to in it.
Weakness:
From an optimum point of view, it could use more power. Definitely Recommended. Beautiful, cool, rides great, economical. Similar Products Used: Fiat Spider and '96 and '97 Miatas. Far more reliable than a Fiat (goes without saying) and more solid and luxurious than earlier model Miatas. Plus the glass rear window is far better than the earlier plastic ones. |
