Weakness:
weaknesses, what weaknesses?¿?¿?¿?¿ß if you drop a V8 you got a miata that does 0-60 in 3.9 sec like mine/ stock may be a weak for most people.I live in Colorado and this is my daily driver, and let me tell you that it can be scary(and a little fun) in the snow, even when it had a stock engine it fish tailed alot. just throgh some sand bags in the trunk, but keep the sand bags out of this car in dry climates, because of the 50/50 weight distrobution .. this is an awsome car with great handling, and it is a classic....!1/4 Mile Time (seconds): Similar Products Used: Mazda Rx-7,dodge viper, toyota supra(turbo),Lamborghini Diablo,Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 http://www.monstermotorsports.com/article1.html (*scroll down)these are the cars i see in my rear view mirror.0-60 times are My Miata - 3.9 *Diablo - 4.5 *Porsche Turbo - 4.6 *Testarossa - 4.7 *Viper - 4.5 *Corvette ZRl - 5.6 |

Strength:
Excellent handling. Easy to operate top. Beautiful body.
Weakness:
Car feels a little darty on highway crusing. Interior materials could be better (it was a 1999 model, recent models have different interior). I rented this car for a few days when I took a trip down at CA a couple years back. Driving down HW1 with the top down was absolutely exhilarating. The mist of the sea water, the sunset. And The trunk was actually big enough for my suitcase. The only complaint I have is that the shifter felt a little loose.. but considering that it was a rental it was understandable. Also, the car is somewhat darty, probably because of the light weight, high wind, and the very very quick steering response. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
You've read it before - lots of fun bang for a modest buck. Handles like it's on rails. Sounds the part with high revving 1600 4 cyl motor. One of the best cars I've ever had on hills. No room for hangers on & in laws!
Weakness:
A bit awkward to get in & out of (ours has been lowered & also has 50 profile tyres). Power window broke shortly after buying a year ago - was fairly easy to fix tho'. Rear window zipper also broke recently. Could use a bit more grunt. True blue wind in the hair sports car - can't be beat for the price. fantastic to drive on those windy hills that need lots of gear changes. Would sell, but only to buy a newer one. Similar Products Used: Triumph Spitfire, Jensen Healey. Definitely more reliable as you would expect. Doesn't leak (much) in the rain. |

Weakness:
rain drips from roof in wet weather when entering. Owned this car for 5.5 yrs and although lost very little when I sold it there were a few expenses that kept the ownership costs up. Many were upgrades to regular maintenance items. eg high performance tires, alloy wheels (factory) synthetic oils engine, gearbox, diff., timing belt, lumbar supports, stainless scuff plate, insurance claim deductables from vandalism and road rash, new drivers side rear coil spring ( the original snapped after 4 months in storage, figure that one out) Similar Products Used: I have owned many cars, mostly manual transmissions this is by far the most balanced and best handling by far. A motorcycle on 4 wheels. I have also been riding a 6 spd Honda 750 Nighthawk while owning this car. Both vehicles a great to drive /ride. |

Strength:
high value for dollar. excellent fit and finish, inside & out. stronger looking body shape from the past. awesome looking 16inch wheels. perfect balance all the way around this car!
Weakness:
none for this type of car. anyone can ask for more horsepower, etc, but there is enough high quality aftermarket toys out there to satify any short--attention-spanned owner. this is the best bargin two-seater on the market. i love boxsters, bmw's and even honda's S2000, but this car wins hands down for value and fun-factor. the SE is a joy to look at and the interior is nice with the leather trim and wood accents. the steering is sharp, the shifter is short and to the point. the clutch is not overbearing. the wheels and low-prof tires make the car feel like a go-kart, but the ride is not too harse. mazda has really refined this car to excellence.
