my fingers are getting tired bmw?? ya, definitley sounds great to most people! for 26k i rather get an acura tl or lexus is300. This bmw may be a driver''s car and it has a smooth inline 6, but it''s horsepower is only 184?? Even some 2002 16k cars have more ponies then this. (just look at the new altima) true, this bimmer got good looks at that bmw badge, but it don''t got the butter! acura tl''s have what?, leather, power seats, cd-changer,225ponies nice looks, reliability and much much morrre. is300 is also more reliable and it also drives smoothly and it has lexus quietness and quality. yes, it is more expensive but it''s a lot better then this bavarian puppy. this bmw has so many problems the money it cost me to fix this car, totaled up to more than the price of this car! it got a recall for 2001, but there are still squeaks in this car to start a concert!! CAN U SAY LEXUS AND ACUR Similar Products Used: lexus is300,acura type-s,infiniti i35, chevrolet firehawk |

sound system is not bad but its not good. just got my new 330i a few weeks ago. i love cars and have been around nice cars since i was little. luxury and sports cars. this is my first car purchase with my own money so i had to choose very carefully. ive driven almost every car out there and had found none that match this cars combination of sportiness and luxury. this car is soo fun to drive and its a joy to just look at it. i especially love what bmw has done to make an already nice looking car look even better for 2002. the minor changes made make this car look a little bigger and wider. i got pretty much everything except auto, nav and heated seats. i think i got a fair deal...heard some better and some worse. im just glad that i have the car now and would not trade it for anything. almost got an audi a4, a6, good cars but not fast enough and doesnt look half as good...also was looking at the lexus'' is, es, gs, none of these cars had the complete package and they just dont look so good nor drive as nicely. the benzo''s are not drivers cars although they are nice cars to ride in as passengers. was considering an 5 series bmw but it felt kinda big and less responsive although its a little more luxurious. all in all the 330i is a practical fun, beautiful, fast car thats totally worth the inflated price. if you cant afford it then get a lexus or audi. but remember that you''ll always feel the you wish you had the bimmer. Lease if you can deal with the limitations ie mileage cap appearance clauses(no dings). Finance if you can afford a decent down payment (30,000 car 6,000 down at least).
Weakness:
There is another thing I notice when you visit these dealerships the least expensive cars sold new are hardly in stock (There might be 1 or 2 usually preordered for customers). Now if this car of interest is more than a year old you will see tons of used lower priced vehicles, while the dream cars with high prices are everywhere on the sales lot. This is the only way you can buy a Benz or Beamer at a discounted price. The trick is if the lower price new cars are stocked on the lot it would make the price of the car negotiable. It also drives home the need for the dealer to charge you for the options you would be interested in and strong hands on model comparison for the customer. The other commin trick is to act as if your car is being custom built just for you. The used cars are no breath of fresh air either, with the price only discounted a max of 5% in most cases,if at all. And depending on the car, it can sell for more used than when it was new,ie A new car sold a year ago at 31,000 then traded in and sold at 32,500. (Go Figure). The dealer also likes for their customers finances to look attractive to them, meaning they demand you put down a certain amount for a down payment th I am looking foward to buying a BMW 325i or 330i. I now have a 95''G20t, and I can say that I have grown use to the luxury ammenities that came with my current vehicle. It is partially because of this and the love I have for driving a responsive vehicle that has made me interested in purchasing a 3/series BMW, however in doing my homework I find that the high end luxury car market is riddled with gimmicky sales tricks that have so far detered me from making a purchase. My concern was do I lease or rent. I thought about what exactly are the benefits of leasing and I found that the only down side was the mileage cap. The others I had to rethink as plus factors, Like the fact that you only pay the depreciation on the vehicle and that your not paying to own. I had taken a look at my current car deal and realized that financing a used vehicle is for the birds, because depending on your driving habits and your finance term you can end up owning a car that is worth very little if anything at the end of your financing term, Plus you probably will have made or gotten close to making every major repair the care has ever needed. I notice with leaseing if you take good care of you car and watch your milleage it can be a very good thing. The problem I have with high end luxury sales is that car manufactures like BMW, and Mercedes Benz seem to only be interested in luring customers in for the kill. My opinions are not directed at any dealer(sales person)or dealership persay, but in my research this is what I have found. Cars like the 3 series BMW and the C-Class Mercedes Benz are sticker priced at an attractable price, ranging anywhere from $27,101 to 31,050. The ridiculous part starts with the unbelievable option package rates. You would think the way the standard options read on both of these types of cars that you are only entitled to owning the luxury name tag or badge. A car the starts out around $27,000 and after choosing only the practical options like leather, CD player (w/premium sound) power seats (both passengers) sunroof the the car would remain resonably price. Not so, Both Mercedes Benz and BMW will charge an additional 6 to 10,000 in additional cost just to get what most people would expect to already be in the car. After all these two tags (BMW/Mercedes Benz)have ultimately defined high end luxury with cars sold in America and abroad. Similar Products Used: Live within your means. (period) |

The car is still the best to drive. I have been looking for a second car since my business requires I drive approximately 500-600 miles per week. I mention this because in my search, I have still NOT found anything better. The BMW factory service at Harloff BMW in Encinitas, CA is excellent. I have had them adjust a latch to fix a squeak I had in the back left door and they did a great job fixing it.
Weakness:
However, the number one problem with my new car is the appearance of squeaks in the two front doors and last month a squeak in the black plastic cover under the steering wheel. The good news is you can fix it and it will probably be less agravating for you to do it than for the dealership to try to do it. All you need is a can of silicon spray available at Kragen, Pep Boys, etc. Spray it where you think it''s coming from, and presto - the squeak is gone! In addition, I agree with everyone else regarding the stereo system - it''s not befitting of a car like this. My 1998 Honda Accord LX 6 speaker stereo system sounded better than my 10 speaker one in my BMW. I last wrote on May 22, 2001, about 15 days after I bought my new 2001 325i. I writing to update on my new car ownership experience. To date I have put on 15,000 miles on my car (in just 6 months)! I haven''t had the factory scheduled service yet, that will come next week. The car is still the best one out there in this price range. (Please see "Strengths" below.) I still feel like I got a bargain on my car with all of the options I got on it (Auto, Leather, Premium Package, CD, Metallic Paint, Fold Down Seats). It''s a true driver''s car and I wouldn''t trade it for anything else. Similar Products Used: To compare this car against other cars, I can say the following: In my search for another car (second car), I have found the following: 1. Strength:
Engine is smooth, powerful, and sounds amazing. Power really takes off after 3500rpm, but there is still plenty of torque down low. The handling is far better than any car in its price range. It beats the S4, and is on par with the new 330ci''s (328 has better steering), and just slightly below the older 328is. Everything about this car is based on the driver.
Weakness:
Transmission doesn''t like to find 3rd gear. Minor squeaks and creeks. Clutch doesn''t allow you to rev the engine and drop it. Great car to drive. As a used car,it''s an excellent buy. On back roads this car is amazing, so composed and fast. Just stick it in third and let the car do the rest. Similar Products Used: S4, 330ci, 328is |

Weakness:
Interior,Exhaust system,No husky sound takes place, standard music system! Firstly i wanna mention that this car is not as good as it''s rival,Mercedes Clk.It has too many disadvantages such as sportive riding, handling!Only its appearance is sportive and that doesn''t worth.Unlike Clk series,it has no husky sounded exhaust except M3 series(but i think it''s the worst car i''ve ever seen in the group of inherent sports cars such as Chevrolet Corvette,Ferrari 355s,Aston Martin...!)Moreover it looks really simple, there are no distinctions between 3.18 and 3.30 in appearance! The future of this won''t be bright, unless BMW fans fed up with the series!by the way the stock tires are unbelievably terrible Similar Products Used: Mercedes C320,CLK320,CLK 230K Cab.,BMW 5 series(M5)definitely the best car with 4 doors! |

Strength:
Superior acceleration and handling - The M3''s precise steering and responsiveness make the car a joy to drive. Overall build quality is very good.
Weakness:
Effortless accumulation of speed forces driver to watch carefully for police. Wish it didn''t cost as much as it did. Harmon Kardon stereo isn''t very good - but - just put the top down and drive! Overall M3 package is stunning - 333hp engine, 6 speed, enhanced suspension and great looking body modifications. New M3 much, much better than previous model. Volvo V70 XC
Strength:
Seats are super comfortable and supportive. Back seat is amazingly easy to fold down due to nifty head rest design. Controls are well laid out and easy to use. Great climate control. Smooth shifting. Very adequate power. I live in Colorado and it handles the mountains exceptionally. Low to ground which makes putting bikes, etc. on and off roofrack very easy. Gas milage. I average 23 MPG which is good for a large, heavy AWD wagon.
Weakness:
Brakes are a lttle weak, requiring more pedal pressure than I would like. Turning radius is large which can make parking difficult. Great car overall. Fantasitic seats, good power, good handling, intelligent design. Car has 10,000 miles and no problems yet. Similar Products Used: None really. Last car was 1992 Mitsubishi Expo with AWD. It was a good car but the Volvo is in a totally different class. |
