Strength:

Luxury level, ride & handling. Seems to be living up to the Car of the year status.

Weakness:

None I can find at this time, even when trying to find something wrong, I can't.

This car is truly amazing. I love everything about it. I have the CTS4 with performance package,AWD 18 whls. performance brakes. The car almost makes you feel guilty with the luxury level. I did my homework and compared it to many vehicles, for the money there was no comparison..sorry. I also spoke to a Cadillac Master Mechanic I know. He told me the car was solid and he has seen nothing like it in his 20 years as a Cadillac mechanic. I know it may be to soon to tell, but so far better than good. If that changes I will be back, some how I doubt I will. At least with any complaints, I hope.

Strength:

exterior styling, sporty feel, its a cadillac

Weakness:

semi-cheap interior materials (interior design is very cool though. feels like i'm in a spaceship)

I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!!

before buying it i test drove a lincoln ls, a jaguar x-type, and the cadillac cts. obviously i choose the cts. they were all very nice and had their pluses and minuses. i choose the cts mainly because of the exterior styling. the ride was about the same between the three, all very sporty. the V8 ls was the most powerful, but the cts and jaguar still hold their own. of the three the interior looks the coolest in the cts (as in design) but the materials used seem a bit cheap, which is my ONLY semi-complaint.

as for reliability, it has been great! no problems what so ever as of yet, and i've owned it for almost a year. it feels very solid!

this is by far the coolest looking car on the street. it looks like nothing else out there and i get compliments all the time!

next year i plan on getting a year old 2008 CTS...

Weakness:

Cheap interior, Unreliable & undependable.

I am convinved CTS stands for Cheap TS. Everything (except body styling) screams cheap. From the flimsy bumpers to the chunky center console. The doors feel thin as cardboard, the "premium" Bose sound system is marginal at best. Air bag covers near back window deck are falling off. I can go on about the cheapness forever but theres other problems. Two weeks off the lot, Coolant Level Low appeared on DIC. Filled it up, a week later, the same. Took to shop, had to replace exhaust manifold gasket. 60 days later, Engine light lit on dash. Appointment is in two days (thank goodness for bumper to bumper warranty).
I DO have some posative points. Nice firm ride, sporty suspension, incredibly attractive body styling.
Owned an STS before this, had major problems, CTS looks like another apple from the same tree.
It's no wonder American car mfgr's are laying off workers by the tens of thousands and closing plants. No wonder Japanese anf German auto makers are killing American makers. America's corporate greed dictates make the package pretty, skimp on whatever is behind the shiny paint and under the hood then charge as much as possible for it. My next car will undoubtedly be a Lexus or Mercedes.

Weakness:

Noisy, not enough inside storage space,Goodyear tires that come on it are too noisy.Lately to many issues to mention.

Sharp car,wife loves it.
The car is noisy and more that six visits to the dealership for different problems.
Limited amount of inside storage space.
Car has failed to start twice in last six months and the dealership does not have any answers why.Check engine light came on while we were in a funeral procession and the motor felt like it was going to fall out. Left it at the dealership for repair but we are truely disappointed with the car now.The beauty of the car is very pleasing, but the engineering leaves a lot to be desired. We have owned this for 2 years and I am ready to test the lemon law.

Mercedes like driving experience. Smooth strong engine, great handling. I would love this car if only....

Weakness:

Horrible seats, simply horrible. I can't sit in them for longer than 30 minutes at a time without major back ache. No lumbar support and they're so uncomfortable, I'm selling the car although ironically, everything else about it could compete with the best the Germans have to offer.

I love everything about this car except the seats!

Strength:

Surprising integrity in engineering and build quality and a real car for people that know how to drive and not just sit and worry about how many speakers there are

Weakness:

Rear wheel drive, trunk opening not kind to large flatpacks or awkward packages.Somewhat overpriced.

Had this vehicle 15 months moving from a 3 yrold Accord EX 6. Nothing has gone wrong in 14000 miles and car looks as new. Also no creaks or odd noises. I have the sports and the luxury package, with the smoke gray color. Excellent drivers car, great on a longer run with excellent ride and handling and I believe the stabilitrac feature saved me in an enforced sudden lane change at 70 mph, seats are very adjustable and solidly comfy, guages are great but I dont like some of the controls and center console. Engine is somewhat roary under strong acceleration but strong and the pull after the 70 mph limit is amazing, I GUESS ITS THE TIRES BUT DESPITE THE EVEN WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION THE SNOW TRACTION WAS VRY POOR AND SINCE SNOW FILLED THE TYRES THE SNOW BUTTON WAS USELESS, SNOW TIRES ARE OVER A 1000 FOR FOUR ON THAT SIZE TOO, SNOW TIRES HELPED A LOT BUT NOT LIKE A REGULAR FRONT DRIVE CAR IN ALL REALLY AN UNDERRATED CAR, THERE IS A LOT OF GOOD ENGINEERING HERE AND DRIVERS WILL APPRECIATE THIS COMPARED TO THOSE WHO WANT A LUXURY SEAT TO DRIVE TO KEEP UP WITH FASHION.

None to mention.

What can I say, wonderful car. Turns heads everywhere I go. Great handling and comfortable interior. All these people that did not like the CTS for various reasons, I never experienced those problems with mine. Brakes are a bit squeeky all though a small price to pay for such a sleek "ride". If your looking to buy a CTS, do it you will never regret it!!

No convertible available (yet?)

The 2005 CTS has been an excellent car for me. I have had NO problems or issues; it has not even been back to the dealer in the 15 months I have owned it so far. I had a 2004 CTS before this one, and I think they are wonderful cars.

I added a Corsa cat-back exhaust and a Volant Cold Air Intake, and also recommend both. They are louder, but also added HP. More info at caddyinfo.com.
