Engine and other noises

Very unhappy with the car. The engine (according to the dealer) on my 2006 Cadillac CTS makes a continual whining noise when accelerating or at a steady speed above 35 MPH, that the dealer says is normal. Previously, the dealer told me it was my Differential and replaced it.

None that I can think of.

Weakness:

Shaking engine and it vibrates

Car has 10000 miles and it Shutters/Shakes and Vibrates. So I call it a CTSssv. Twice to a dealer and THEY AGREE it shakes but no solution. This is typical for any car with a 3.6 engine. This happens at idol and a stop sign.

Poor reliability, Poor service at dealer

We have CTS 2004 with Luxury/Sport package, XM radio and Navigation. While it is avery nice vehicle, we are not satisfied with the reliability. Almost every problem we have had, the dealer has been argumenative and non responsive. Now dealer and Cdillac refuse to repair steering noise problem. We will NEVER buy another Cadillac.

Looks, Power, Ammenities....the security I feel with OnStar....Performance.

Weakness:

No valet key and small glovebox

I never dreamed I would want a cadillac let alone own one. When the CTS first came out I thought what a sharp looking car....last year we purchased a Cadillac Escalade truck in order to tow a boat we own.......was I ever impressed. So much so that I really looked into the CTS. I love this car.....I find excuses to run errands.....has every option one could want....handles well and has plaent of pick up and go. I have 5k miles on car and to date have had no problems although after reading all the reviews on this site I may be a little nervous. I sold a BMW to buy this car and have no regrets.....the Ultimate Drivingf Machine was nothing but problems and expensive ones at that.....and I have had 3 Bimmers. I am so happy with this CTS

Quick and agile, Pretty exhaust notes from the true dual exhaust.

Weakness:

squeaky brake? why?

The cadilac CTS is one of the more auxhilerating vehicles that I have driven. The 255 hp motor produces exhaust notes that are touching. The car handles like it is on rails for the weight that it has. And braking is just exceptional dry or wet, She will stick. Exterior styling is sexy and sleek especially in the white diamond. The body work flows well and just flat out makes it look fast. Interior styling is great aligator dashboard easy to use electronics, memory seats and mirror, for 2 drivers. Plush firm seats and a wood grain sterring wheel to steer. As far as this rear wheel drive beauty goes in the snow well it does just fine. The traction control is great and the vehicle even has a winter mode. As for durability goes the car seems to do well. I runn the car pretty hard at times and she really doesent mind it. with 10,000 miles no problems other than some squeaky brakes.

Quick response, excelent handling, and a lot of fun to drive

Weakness:

standard transmission not an option with the 255 horse power engine

Excellent car. I bought my CTS in August 2003. I ordered directly from factory fully loaded with everything but the block heater. I also added the wood trim and the billet grill. I have had no problems, not even minor ones and I currently have 12221 miles on it. At this point I am completly satisfied and so far I have had less problems with my CTS than any previous new cars I have owned.

Weakness:

noisy injectors small glove compartment need more console storage no lumbar support

Wondeful driving car, Bought it with 12k miles on it. Needed the lh front strut replaced and tag/backup light because it took water in. I added a mvs wing that sets it apart from the other cts's on the road. Acceleration & sport shift mode makes it a fun car to drive. The 3.2l V6 makes a bit of noise and you occasionally feel the trans downshift in low speeds. It is a tight car and looks great in blue. The dealership has treated me very well.

Weakness:

Car more adult friendly than family friendly as not much space in rear seating area - ok for me - no children at home anymore!! Need more glove compartment space - After all I am a women and have lots of stuff!!

Excellent Car!!!! I bought this car brand new over a year ago and now have over 15,000 miles on it with no problems what so ever!!It still drives and handles like a dream. It is Copper Sunburst in color and still turns heads to this day. This unusual color brings out the complements from complete strangers on a daily basis still over a year later especially at the gas station when I am filling up. Seems everyone just loves this color and the style of the car!!! I own the 255 Hp 5 speed automatic with the luxury package and it has planty of power for me. I use the sports mode occassionaly and like having that option as well as the "Snowflake" for adverse weather conditions. The navigation system is awesome along with the Bose stereo system. I'm glad I spent the extra money for this version as I love having the sunroof as well as the other options. Safety measures like Stabiltrac and having 8 air bags is a big plus!! Interior is perfect still. This car fits my lifestyle to a tee, and is so much fun to drive!!!!! I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone who asked. I've seen some other reviews here, and must say that it seems like some who have posted have got real lemons on their hands. Not uncommon for any manufacturer. My advice, get GM to take those cars back and don't quit trying till you do, because if what happened to some of you happened to me, my dealership would find this car back on their lot with the keys in it and not one more payment would I make. My husband and I have purchased several cars from the same dealership I purchased this CTS from so they know we wouldn't put with any problems like the ones experienced here by some. They are the only dealership we will deal with in our area because of the way they conduct themselves and their business. We have done alot of business with them and have referred numerous other people to them. We deal with only one salesman and we have found over the years that this has certainly made a difference in the customer service we attain and in our purchasing of new cars and the deal we strike as to purchase price. Any new car, regardless of the price, should be on the road more than in the shop. Good luck to those with LEMONS!!!

Strength:

Appearance, quality, interior fit and finish, room. Engine and tranny smoothness.

Weakness:

Could use a little more storage space for cell phones, spare change, etc.

Purchased the 330 model with the new 3.3L V6. Ultra smooth and quiet. Transmission shifts are barely noticeable and sometimes I check the tachometer to make sure its still running! Just an outstanding vehicle. Interior is far and away best in its class. Unbeatable head and leg room all around. I have the base stereo, and its still top quality. Dealer has been great to do business with. After reading other reviews about $30K+ lemons from Audi, Mercedes, and domestics, I don't see how anybody could buy anything but Lexus. Simply the best.
