Strength:

Style Handling Acceleration (with auto. transmission)

Weakness:

Style draws too much attention! Nit-picks : need gauges, windshield washer nozzles should be hidden in cowl, speedometer should increment by ten not twenty and NOT up to 160 MPH, interior glass fogs up easily, fuel injectors noisy at low speed

A hoot to drive. Also practical if you don't need much trunk. Comfortable if maybe a little claustrophobic. Absolutely no problems 7000 miles. Negative reviews here scare me. Mine was built April '03, maybe mine is lemonade. Performance and assembly quality meet/exceed expectations. I have no BMW nor Cadillac experience. This car is a Zeppelin. Color of mine is Cashmere ("Kashmir", get it?)

Strength:

Exterior styling, very smooth shifting 5 speed manual.

Weakness:

Underpowered, overpriced, overhyped, glove box to small even for owners manual, the worst quality I have ever had, yes even worse than FIAT.

The car was in the shop longer than it was out. It was in for coolant leaks (4 times), The radio didn't work (the antenna grid was broke in the rear window)The car shook and made rubbing noises, it turned out the front left fender was out of alignment. I eventually called 1800lemonlaw and won my case after Cadillac refused to exchange my car.

Strength:

Value, style, strong engine, good ride/handling, excellent seats and sound system.

Weakness:

Needs more gauges (c'mon GM, even my S10 pickup had full instrumentation!). Split folding seat should also be standard. Option packages quickly raise the price and don't offer that much more over the base car. You can't get a sunroof without first buying a $2000 "luxury package".

I leased my CTS almost a year ago and have had no problems whatsoever. The engine is strong, sounds good, and delivers 26mpg on the highway. The seats (even without adjustable lumbar) are the best I've ever had. The standard sound system is excellent. The combo of the white diamond paint and black interior is sharp! The look of the interior is different, but you get used to it and everything works as it should. The rotary volume control on the steering wheel is the best one out there. Comfortable, stylish, good power and handling, and a good value if you can find a base car like I did (shop around). Everything is standard...(see comments below...)

Looks good.

Weakness:

To many to mention!!!

The CTS is my first and last Cadillac! After only 7,000 miles I started having electrical problems! The theft deterrent system would activate and when I put the car in park the key would not release nor would it come back out of park! The module was reset, one of the computers replaced. Still the same problems. It is in the shop again today, after picking it up on yesterday because the dash started smoking!

Strength:

Sleek Styling, Smooth Marketing

Weakness:

Almost too numerous to mention: Headlights don't light up at night, Steering bolt recall, Dash clock doesn't synch with digital, No rear reading lights, Air noise at 55+ mph, Wipers don't work well, MAJOR and multiple water leaks, Trunk very heavy to open and close, no lumbar support.

After owning both a Seville and an STS I am a loyal Cadillac customer. So when the CTS came out I was very excited! However, that excitement was short lived when all the problems started. Sure the car is sleek looking and turns heads. But it can't compensate for the headlights that don't light up anything at night, the steering bolt recall, no rear reading lights for the kids, the extreme air noise at 55 mph (one the dealer insists isn't there!), the wipers that can't clean a windshield even after being replaced or the multiple (3+) water leaks. If I want a colander, I'll buy one at Wal-Mart for $3 not for $40K. And most people riding with me don't enjoy sitting in ankle deep water. Dealer can't seem to fix problems (lack of knowledge or complacency?). I am trying to go through the Cadillac 800 Customer Assistance. Wish me luck... Last Cadillac I'll ever buy.

Strength:

Holds road and corners well.

Weakness:

Airbag cannot be fixed. No free loaner car even though is a warranty service item. OnStar states in no uncertain terms to discontinue driving till the airbag and antilock brake issues have been fixed. Dealer doesn't see it that way. Says car is safe and so no loaner till engineering can resolve airbag problem. This has been worked on 3 times and today 8/29/3 drove away from dealer with airbag light on. Steering fluid leak. Next vehicle will not be a Cadillac. Strongly suggest Mercedes.

Good handling. Good looks. Problems with airbag, fuel cap, antilock brake sensors going off all the time.

Strength:

Gee! Can you tell I love it?? Powerful engine, silky-smooth performance and ride.

Weakness:

Feel there should be more standard options like sunroof, or heated seats, or key-less entry. Had that on my last veh - SHO - and I loved that option. Never lock your keys in the car again!

I read alot of negatives regarding the CTS, but have yet to encounter any. I leased mine approx 1 month ago and have been very pleased. The even weight distribution is evident during my freeway jaunts to work....especially the on and off ramps! ;-) The new 255hp V6 is smooth and powerful. I enjoy using the gas pedal in my vehicles and so far haven't felt any lack of power...meaning I wanted more than it had. Forgot how much fun a rear wheel drive can be! The trans is smooth and feels polished. I have felt an annoying lurching when first started and put in gear quickly, like the high idle affects the trans(?). But it stops within seconds of warming up and never appears again. And no other car on the road can hold a candle to the styling...Im blown away by the looks. Gives the image of a stealth fighter plane. I love those edges! And the design of the head lights is awesome. Even the engine looks like art. When I first looked at the engine I chuckled to myself that the engine screams, "DON"T TOUCH ME!!" With the engine cover and decorative pieces, it is beautiful, but is not inviting to the amateur mechanic! You know they designed it to look great, but you're not supposed to mess with it. As a past modifier of my vehicles - Taurus SHO V8, VW GTI/VR6, etc... - I have some experience modifying vehicles. So far, I really don't see the need for anything other than maybe some 17 or 18" rims.
