The CTS did not stand up to my expectations at all. The styling is unconventional. There is no doubt that it is different from the cars it competes with in terms of styling. However it is not an aerodynamic car as compared to a Mercedes, BMW or an Audi. The interior is different from the normal American car but the grey colored plastic all around makes it look cheap. The cloth on its roof is also very cheap as compared to the German cars. The engine is horrible and noisy. When asked they say that a sporty engine makes noise. Well it is not a sporty noise. It is a rough noise which gets more evident when the A/C is switched on. It's drivability is very poor. May be the drivability of the Japanese cars are better. The power steering is hard to maneuver. The reason given is that it is a sports type. Actually it is not firm as in the sports cars but is hard like a truck. The Bose system is OK. The wipers makes a lot of sound. It also does not wipe well. The size of the steering wheel is big and does not give the sporty feel as claimed. I cant understand the need of wood on the steering wheel which makes it more difficult and dangereous when one needs to make a sudden turn. The brake pedal makes a squeaky noise right from day one. The color selection available is pathetic. All in all this car will not appeal to an European buyer or anyone who has an engineering sense. It could fool people who would go for its outward appearance only. It is a big dissapointment to me.
