Strength:

look, accelleration, style,full functional seats

Weakness:

the car was just not put together well enough to call it a new car.. in the 1st month i've had 1. trunk water seal leak. 2. Bolts dropping out of the drive shaft 3. Buttons on ac sticking 4. Oil leak thats still not found 5. timing belt change 6. 2nd clock not syncing with digital one one day i'll get to drive the car for a month without problems..

I love the look, the performance is not bad, lots of options, but truthfully i spent alot of money thinking im getting a nice luxury car and i've had more problems than if buying a used car..

Strength:

I was impressed by the styling, a good change from the previous Catera. The engine seems to have more spunk and the car feels a great deal quicker on acceleration.

Weakness:

No in trunk pull handle, no rear AC ducts, no power center mirror, no locking gas cap, less rear leg room, no drop down back seats. And where did the querky radio/personalization computer crap come from? And lets not forget giving up full instrumentation for a (2nd) analog clock. Where were the engineers at Cadillac when this almost great car got spec'd out?

The car is well styled. Wheels are easy to keep clean. Smaller outside so I have more room in the garage. Seats are supportive. Fuel economy is improved. Effortless highway speeds, 80 without any fuss!

Strength:

Great styling, great handling, great acceleration.

Weakness:

I had some problems and it was in the shop for a week. Once they get all the problems out on the new lines, this will be a GREAT car.

I love my CTS... I love the styling (the reason why I bought it in the first place), I love the way it handles (very responsive) and I love the way it drives (it goes!). My wife has a BMW 325 and I drive both, the ride in the CTS is MUCH smoother with the same (if not better pickup).

This car is a complete lemon and is not ready for sale. The problems are vast. The worst of all the AC leaks in the cabin, flooded the floor pans, rusted the seat tracks and got the wire harness wet. There were so many other problems, including the poor service from Caddy's 800 help line. If you want more info email me at stockman1@att.net with questions.

Strength:

Good looks, good ride.

Weakness:

Incredibly poor engine design.

Wow, found out my Cts has the same engine as my '99Catera. Slick packaging and a new name tricked me this time but never again. Am going to sell this car and take the loss now instead of later. I will never buy a Cadillac again. Same timing belt tensioner, same oil cooler. I need a car that I can rely on to get me somewhere other than back to the dealership. I still can't believe they tricked me again. Anyone want to buy a slightly used CTS, cheap?

Strength:

Sophisticated features, unique styling, value for the money. Great handling.

Weakness:

Needs bigger wheels (anything less than 17 inch looks to small, 18 inch would be better), should have a dual exhaust. A more powerful engine option would be good, but this is to be fixed in 2004 I believe.

This car is not for everyone, the exterior styling is unique and gains attention, and people tend to either love it or hate it. However it is an excellent domestic alternative to BMW, Mercedes, etc at the entry level of luxury. Many people nitpick this car, comparing it to more expensive benchmarks which I feel is not an apples to apples comparison. For a starting price of around 28k there is a ton of value for the money. The fit and finish is very good, and I find it very fun to drive. The interior is classy and well thought out, but not on par with a $50,000 BMW - but then again you are not paying $50,000 for this car. So many people want BMW clones, or it seems if everything does not look like a Toyota it gets downgraded. I think it is cool that Cadillac has broken the mold and come out with something different. The handling on this car is excellent; the engine and auto transimission are different, however, from the standard American experience. The V6 has a high revving sound that has not been typical on American luxury cars, that are normally more focused on almost zero engine noise, and more emphasis on exhaust sound. Again, this is a different approach with more of a european sound. The 5 speed auto is the same one used in BMW 5 series, and does not behave like your run of the mill 4 speed overdrive auto; it uses engine braking and is much more sophisticated. The features and functions on this car, for the money, I think are very good. I urge readers to go and take a look at one and test drive it if you are curious, and don't just believe the negative viewpoints that tell you to disregard this car. I was skeptical at first but once I saw one in person, drove it, and got to understand many of the cool features, I really fell in love with it and have been very pleased with my purchase. Trouble free, distinctive, great value and fun to drive.

Strength:

Sport suspension, 5-speed transmission (P.S. the manual and automantic are exactly the same ones found in the BMWs) interior roominess and layout.

Weakness:

Lack of low end power.

Thi is an excellant and capable vehicle. It is for all intense purposes a BMW 528i. Exterior styling I've grown to like and an interior that screams European. I've been in in BMW's and Mercedes, and quite frankly, this is on par. This not an M5 or an AMG , yet it competes nicely with a 528i or an E320 in all dimensions and preformance aspects. I found the build quality and comfort to be very good, much better than I expected for an American car.
