Dependability, Safty, fretigious look, handling.

Weakness:

CD changer is not standard

I traded my 2000 ML430 SUV in for this car. Essentialy the same brand, but it sport sedan. This car has better fuel consumption. I got 33 mpg to 35 mpg on HWY, and 23 mpg on side street stop a go condition. This C240 is quiet and smooth ride and when windows roll up you can't hear anything from outside. So far I don't have any complain yet and there are so many safty standard feature that are not available in other vihecle. Never drive anything else but a Mercedes. Handling, functionality and solidness is very good.

Interior finishings

This is a fine vehicle that has been extremely dependable with well-thought-out creature comforts and ergonomics. It is acceptably fast and really does respond well when you stomp on it. The brakes are great. The traction control does work admirably in show, although without traction control the car should be better in snowy conditions, even considering that it is rear wheel drive. Fit and finish are generally pretty good. The trunk is very spacious for a car of this size. Gripes? The interior feels a bit plastic and "Japanese" compared to older Benzes -- I think one area DC needs to pay attention to is their interior material quality and design. I don't like the way the radio adjusts for speed and couldn't figure out how to override it. There is not *quite* enough room for a 6+ footer for long trips -- if only there was a bit more headroom and the seat slid back 2 more inches.... I also agree that Tele-Aid is pretty much worthless. They were unhelpful and the time I really needed it, their network of helpful technicians ready to come to my aid 24/7 was one lonely guy in the local dealership who was hours late because he had to go unlock an M Class first. Hardly first rate service. Dealer customer service is middling to poor. Service is generally good, sales is... well MB sales... haughty and holier-than-thou. But what else is new? If I had to do it over again, I'd go for something a bit larger, perhaps an E500 or and S Class.

Kompressor add more performance Excellent fuel consumption Elegange package a must Solid feeling / handling @ high speed B-Xenon lights very good Dealer support excellent

Weakness:

None

I traded a 2002 180 elegance in for the 2003 180K. Essentialy the same car, but much more performance from the kompressor, better fuel consumption and and an even bigger pleasure to drive. No faults after 6 months of driving - fitted Bi-xenon lights / sunroof / Cell kit - will Never drive anything else but a Mercedes. Handling, functionality and solidness is very good. Orbit service in Minerton Cape Town is above average. Car is now 6-months old [10 000 km's] and only took to workshop for wheel alignment test - all is fine.

First Mercedes. Excellent ride. Have read problem reviews and can't believe they are driving the same car. This car rides great. Have not had a single problem. The dealership in Lexington has provided excellent service as well. This won't be the last MB I buy.

none at all.

I bought this car in Nov of 2002 and simply love it. I did lots of research before buying it. I got it specially ordered since i wanted all the options. I added Parktronic and the Euro TV tuner and Nokia 6310i phone options from europe so I essentially have a fully loaded C class. The ride is lovely but I have the 17" rims and the 16" rims are definitly smoother. 17 looks much better. No problems from my car and it's been almost a year. Dealership service is great. Very freindly people. Best car I have owned so far.

Reliablity, comfort, dealer service (Star Motors in Houston, TX & Leiken Motors in Willoughby, OH). Gas miliage.

Weakness:

Rapid wear on brake rotors. Noise on driver side window when weather seal is dry.

Absolutely solid as a rock. It still starts on the first turn of the key even in sub-zero tempatures. I have over 96,000 miles on it and have only one complaint. The rotors on the brakes wore out at around 45,000 miles. Admittedly, that was 85% city driving. Other than that, the car runs without a flaw. This is even after being sideswiped by a drunk and having $7,500 worth of repairs done. Periodically, I think about a new car but then I think about how reliable my C220 has been and just smille.

I am thinking.... Still thinking.... The pointed star of Mercedes is a bit of a class symbol (not for long if they dont brush up though)

Weakness:

I only have 1200 characters! Interior build quality, drive, engineering, finish, Merc Staff, Little flappy lid on storage pocket.

Firstly, I am not stricly an owner of one fo these, so my opinion is quite neautral. I was shopping around for a vehicle, and I tried both petrol and diesel variations of this car. A total disaster on the part of Mercedes Benz. The diesel felt (sounded and performed) like a van, patrol was not much better and I was scared to touch any of the switches in case I broke them. I ended up selecting a Jaguar. To be fair, Jag is not as loaded as a Merc, but it gave more confidence and I was able to turn the switches with confidence!

Fun to drive; Sporty look. Dealer is great.

Weakness:

Engine sounds coarse ar idle speed.

I bought a Star certified C230 about 4 months ago. I enjoyed every moment of driving the car. Having experience buying cars from Toyota, Honda and VW, I rated my local MB dealer at the very top. They are quite polite and very professional. With a price tag of little over 20k, the C230 comes with many luxury items/options, more than what I expected. The engine is powerful. Although the engine in the 2002 C230 model does sound a little bit coarse. This is my first Mercedes. But it certainly won't be the last. I plan to purchase a E55 or E500 in the next 3 years.

Dealer servicing, awesome SmartKey, TeleAid a plus, power rear sunshade, excellent braking.

Weakness:

Not a smooth ride (my Camry has a better ride), horrible gas mileage, steering wheel controls hard to use, TeleAid not wanting to help me at 12:30 in the morning, getting ripped off.

When first looking at MB's, I was expecting to puchase a used StarMarked model. I was looking at the new "C" class and drove it, loving how it performed. However, it broke down two weeks after I purchased it resulting in over $800 worth of repairs. In addition, when I used TeleAid to repair my car at 12:30 in the morning, they sais they would be more than willing to help me out. Two minutes later, they called me back and asked if I could repair the problem (thank goodness for TeleAid since I was without a signal on my cell phone). In addition, the gas mileage on this car is horrible. I stopped more times making a 400 mile journey than I did with my previous SUV. In addition, the rear leg room is cramped and I was told that the car only came in white and black at the time of purchase, which was not the case at the time. I definately got ripped off paying a 49K price tag for this car!
