Strength:

Can't think of one.

Weakness:

Top, rattles, creaks, leaks, tires etc. Very poor service from MB. You could get better service from some of the lowest priced cars out there, but hey that is what they try to give you when your MB is in the shop :).

This is my second SLK (First was a 1999 SLK 230). Both are VERY VERY bad cars. The 230 was in the shop continualy for top problems and the 320 has been in for problems with the cheap interior and rattling and creaks. Don't count on MB to ever respond to letters or calls either. You always end up with the local rep. Not even a letter back from the regional or international HDQT's. Pretty sad since I have spent over $100,000 on MB cars in 3 years. But hey, they don't care.

Strength:

Great handling, quiet with top up, open top cruising at the flick of a switch. Good engine, love the 6 speeds. Fantastic all around commuter and fun for the weekend.

Weakness:

Sometimes I think it would be nice to havbe a bit more engine roar. Then a down shift and the mellow exhaust kicks in and its enough. Trunk is ok with roof up, lose half with it down. Should have come at least with a CD player.

After over 1 year of driving, I''ve only had this in the shop for an oil change. I''m now running Mobile 1. No other problems (no where is that wood to knock). At 193 HP, this engine provides more than the 180 TT, has more torque than the S2000 and you don''t have to pay for all of the extras that the Z3 and others require. Fog/driving lights, traction control all included 2 more engines to choose from. Designed for far more HP than the 230 with super charger throws at it. Not a squeak as of yet.

the hard top roof of course, this way u dont have to worry about anybody cutting your roof, the sound system, the beautifull color interior, the length of this car (its very easy to find a parking.

Weakness:

turns, exhaust sound and cheap leather

i love it, everything from the sporty luxury look to everything else, when i first bought the car i felt it lack power from the 2.3 liter engine so i bought a couple of products from renntech n brabus. i didnt know i was capable of doin 540+hp with nitrous. i happen to be a undercover racer which means i hook up the engine and nothing more. i still have the same look as any person who own this model but my engine is totally diffrent. for any of those who feel this car is weak, i have one thing to say "its not what kind of car u have, it''s what u do to it, and how u drive it"

Strength:

None. This is the worst car for its price range. This car is level with a Kia but 5 times the price. Its really a woman''s car. Actually, its more like a 8 year old girl''s toy car to be more exact.

Weakness:

Let me put it this way. I went to a Mercedes Dealership and even the salesman told me " Dont BUY THIS CAR, its junk" Now this is AT THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP!!! How bad does a car have to be that even a car salesman tell you dont to buy it. This car has like paper in the interior covered with a cheap piece of clear plastic(CHEAP) but my BMW M-roadster has top quality leather. The car does not have enough power to move out of its own way. Its a nightmare dealing with the service for this piece of Junk.

DONT BUY THIS CAR. The engine could not power a leaf blower. This car is exactly like one of those Barbie/G.I.Joe toy cars you buy a Toys R'' us for 5 year olds that run on batteries. The ones where little kids sit in them and pretend they are driving a real car. This is the best I can explain this car. You are better off with a Porsche boxster or definally the BMW M-roadster(rocket)!!!!!

BMW M-Roadster is a real winner or the M3. It has everything you could ever want in a sports car. The quality of the interior is great.

Strength:

Handling, quiet ride with top up, excellent handling, doesn''t beat you up when commuting, good pick up, good gas mileage, good radio, corners like its on rails.

Weakness:

Could use lumbar seat adjustment. I''m 6''1" and just fit.

I''ve had this car for over one year. I still enjoy justing going for a ride. The handling is solid, no squeeks, just quiet. The hard top is the best.

I tried the Audi TT, S2000, Z3, and Boxter. I still like the SLK the best. Its my second Merc and am happy...

The V6 engine is much better than the 4-cyl. Kompressor. The exhaust note is gratifying. Acceleration is there when you want/need it.

Weakness:

Steep price in todays time and that''s about all.

I have had my SLK 320 for about a year now. The car has been an absolute joy to own. I purchased this car as a weekend car and have about 4,700 miles on it. My only regret is that I don''t have enough time to drive it. It is a wonderful car.

the electric roof is awesome. good looks

Weakness:

i find this car very rough in suspension, the quality of paint could be
greatly improved. would like to see it a little wider in body style
and something done to eliminate the front brake dust.

overall i am pleased with this car.enjoy the looks and heated seats. the
dealer would not dicker on the price at all, but the service they provide
is great.

i compared it to audi tt, boxster and honda s2000. the resale value helped
to sell me on this car.

Strength:

The hardtop mechanism works well.

Aside from the rear, which looks stubby, the car is attractive with the sports package.

The brakes work very well.

Weakness:

The manual transmission is not good. I thought it would break in with more use, but it's still stiff.

The car's handling is slow. The car responds to steering inputs in a lethargic manner. This doesn't matter on the freeway, but when you're negotiating tight and winding roads this car is not your best friend.

The interior of this car is cheap. MB used to many low grade plastic pieces.

The interior squeaks and rattles have become unbearable.

This is a Mercedes? Give me a break.

The hardtop is a great idea and works very well.

All in all, it's a well styled car. The rear end is not very fluid, but it needs to appear stubby to house the hardtop.

The 3.2 liter 6 is fairly powerful. It's also ideal for freeway driving. I wouldn't recommend purchasing the weak, whiny 4 cylinder. It'll give you a headache at 60mph.

This is not a sportscar. The handling and driving feel of the car are both subpar.

The build quality is not good. Mercedes chose to make the car affordable and use low grade interior plastics. The squeaks and rattles are very annoying.

At 30k this car makes some sense. However, the build quality and subpar handling do not warrant the 50k+ price tag.
