Strength:

*Strong and smoth turbo-engine
*Wonderful seats
*Design

Weakness:

Nothing particulary, but there could be more storage-spaces for small things.

This is my first SAAB and I must say that i'm impressed!..Best seats in industry and comfort +AAA. The engine is great and the big space and the very excelent clima-system makes the trips wonderful. Compared to BMW and AUDI I must say SAAB 9-5 has the best value for money. I can really recommend this car.

Strength:

Safety. Dependability. Mileage. Handling. All the little extras, i.e. mirror tilt when parallel parking, heated seats front and rear, sound system, roomy interior and trunk space.

Weakness:

Can't think of one! Honestly!

Excellent vehicle. Worth every cent. Bought the car new 13 months ago, no problems whatsoever (dependability). Safe, solid car. Roomy inside and great on gas (both around town and highway). Comfortable on long rides. Handles great in snow (Maine winter)w/4 snow tires. Although in a higher price range, this car (like all Saabs) is built to last.

Similar Products Used:

Saab 900. Volvo V70. The 9-5 is much roomier than the 900, not as low to the ground, and seats not as stiff as the 900. The Volvo V70 was a much stiffer ride and wind noise could be heard on the inside of the vehicle.

I would like to have a 4wd version

I must say that this car really hit me when i first drove it...it's is a wonderfull little odd car but i love it. My jobmates has tried it and they al say that they are impressed. Compare to my former car , a BMW 525 Touring , the SAAB is way ahead in value for money. I like the engine and the acceleration capasity (230 hp). Bets car for this amount of money.

Strength:

Exterior and interior looks, acceleration, stereo, and that humm that comes from the turbo when you put your foot down.

Weakness:

The car looks great, but I have found that the paint is suseptible to annoying scratches and the the body panels ding easily. Additionaly, the leather seats wear way to easily and the carpet is not thick enough to keep the noise out. LAstly the blind spot that I just cant get used too!!!

I really do love this car. It looks great in black and there arent too many of them on the road. This Saab has so many amenities that a comprable car would cost at least $10k more. I purchased this car as a demo with little more than 8k miles(got lucky). Although I am very happy so far (PRICE!), I was not happy with Saab dealer prep (horrible)and have found that the paint and body panels are succeptible to dings (Very very annoying). Additionaly, the car stalled on me once????

I come from owning an Infiniti G20 and that car would not die. This is a big step up.... I was about to buy a 98 Audi A6 w/ 30k for a similar price and no warranty. You cant go wrong for the price and all those extras...

Strength:

Good looks. Cabin & trunk space. Cool dash layout. Love the cargo tracks. Safety record (was the safest car ever tested by Euro NCAP till the new Renault Laguna came along).

Weakness:

Finish surprisingly poor for a car of this price - various bits of interior trim don't quite line up (eg one of the speaker covers on top of the dash keeps popping out), and the rubber seals round the windows don't fit properly. Turbo pretty amazing once it gets going, but you have to allow for the lag when you're pulling into a stream of traffic! I read with interest the many comments about poor electrics - wonder if this is a worldwide problem or something to do with the US assembly line.

Solid, comfortable, v.quick for a 2-litre. I test drove just about everything for the same size & price, and this car was best overall impression (in the end it was between this & Subaru Outback H6 - would have bought both if I could!!)

Similar Products Used:

Subaru Outback H6: Probably better value for money than the saab, and probably better engineered/finished too. But the saab wins on spirit - its quicker and better looking.
Volvo V70: Drove it, loved it, but the Saab won on price.
Mercedes C-180: Smaller, slower, perhaps more appealing to the hat-wearing elderly. I took it for a very short test drive and was pleased to hand it back. You have to spend a lot more to end up with as much car as the Saab.
Commodore, Camry, Magna, Falcon, etc etc... all respectable family wagons but not very interesting considering what you have to pay.
