Strength:

Seats, Seats, Seats. Power, handling, stereo. You can drive it fast or drive it slow it has a dual personallity.

Weakness:

Engine not as smooth as others - but it does provide character to the car. Unusual operation of power door lock switch on door. Rear seat may be on the smaller size but I can fit very well being at 6 feet (The V70's rear seat is bigger) Maybe not as "sporty" as BMW etc. But when in traffic how sporty do you have to be? Handles as good a Jetta and other vehicles

I leased a 98 S70 GLT for four years and my wife didn't want me to keep it so I got a Jetta GLX. But I always wanted the Volvo. Recently wife got a V70 2.4T and it reminded me so much of my S70. I soon became very disenchanted with the Jetta. So bought the S60 - so much more comfortable.

Car drives great for me. Problem is the Low Profile 17 in tire/rim. No good for city with potholes. Already lost 2 rims and on another occasion, a tire. Just had another problem develop. The radio light, and lighting switchs went out. Dealer says it is a software problem and not a fuse. A real pain. No fun to drive when you have the worry of losing a rim. This car needs tires with a thicker profile. No dealer help. No Volvo help.

Strength:

The heavy feel of the car, the fog lights, electrical power chaired with heaters, moonroof, strong safety features. The car has a great sports feeling with alot of room. It's a little suv feeling too.

Weakness:

Obviously there are very limited amounts of S60's out there on the streets. The reason for this is at its sticker price the G-35 and Nissan Z are more preferred. But I guarantee the Volvo is much better overall with its fuel saving engine and its overall safety. The 1 thing that even irritates me is the fact your blind spots cannot be seen due to the wide doors. You have to look in your rear view. You cannot see your blinds.

Im 18 years of age and my father asked me what kind of car I wanted. At the time there were 4 hot cars available. This was January of 2003. Those few cars were Infiniti G-35, Nissan Z, Lexus GS300, and the Volvo S60. Out of all the test drives and overall results I chose either the infiniti G-35 or the Volvo S60. I loved the looks of G-35 more but the heavy yet sharp feel of the Volvo won me over. Overall this is a great car with a great experience. It can look good in some colors as I have it in Titanium Grey. It can look decent in others. I have the 2.4 T Volvo S60 2003.

Power, Seats, styling, reliability, fuel economy, speed, resale,(I go through a car once a year @32,000 I sell them, without too much depreciation.)

Weakness:

Fuel door fell off very easily. Seems power shuts down on slippery surfaces...sorry I can control my own slides I want to control the car. Alignment problems going through tires like crazy...

Traded from 2001 XC. I drive 600 miles on weekends. Seats are awesome! Power is awesome. The turbo lag allows time to wave goodbye to the Bmer beside you. Great car. Volvo has come along way recently! kudos. Although next vehicle is Cayene.

Strength:

good pick up and handles well.

Weakness:

gas tank cracked in less than 1000mi. No dealer explanation on why this happened, glad it didn't explode in my garage. Grinding noise under hood every time you start car dealer says that is normal(prior life as a YUGO dealer). Now metal grinding noise when you back up in the morning. This is not a quality product! A/C unit cuts out on the Highway and does not like to start up unless you turn it off. No leg room in back seat.

This Being our 1st Volvo I wish it was a SAAB!The interior is great and the driver position reminds me of a 124coupe(a nice european car)

Strength:

Interior fit finish and styling is much improved over the S70. Fuel economy is supurb.

Weakness:

Trunk opening is small. Rear seat leg room is less than the S70.

I am a high mileage driver and this car is no disappointment. Turbo amd 200HP makes it fum to drive along with the geartronic transmission when you want to play. The level of comfort and security leads me to wonder why they build an AWD version.

Safety, the interior of the car and driving on diffiult curved roads is the greatest advantages of this car. With the right tyres the car lay "glued" in curves of difficult Norwegian roads. Due to errors mentioned below, we should not love it, but surprisingly we do.....

Weakness:

3 times in one month the backing lights, trunk lid, back sidedoors and rear fog lights went off / locked without warning. After consulting the garage (excellent people) I was advised to take off the minus pole of the battery, wait for some minutes and put it back again. This is quite an operation on the S60...and worked...but all due to "errors in the computer of the car"...and the resetting was done with this battery operation.... So now I am waiting for "new software" to arrive.......

A very good and comfortable car, fun to drive and with a feeling of being safe....

Weakness:

poor backward visibility, lights never turn off, engine would need 20 hp. more. reer leg room, but nobody's complaints.

Best car I ever had, replacing a Maxima 1999, at low speed have less power but on the highway it s a blast!!!, for the money, nothing beat it, you get everything, power seats, leather, split folding seats, security lights around car, mags...BMW : nothing, pastic hub caps, no folding seats, you have to pay 10000$ more, and still you have a 6 cyl, 168hp!!!

Strength:

Comfortable, safe, fun front wheel drive car. Seats are incredible-- you can drive for five hours and get out feeling like you just took a quick trip to the mall. Dual climate control is a nice addition, and the safety features are unapproached by other car makers.

Weakness:

Rear seat is cramped. Car is great for a young family, but I suspect teens wouldn't want to be stuck in the back for too long.

I was looking for a safe, comfortable car for my wife and found it in the Volvo s-60. The car is pure luxury, witha strong hint of sportiness. Can it compete with a BMW in performance-- no. Unforunatley, we don't have an Autobahn to drive on so the performance level of the S60 will be fine for drivers looking for a fun, safe luxury car. It also saves you about 5 grand over a simliarly loaded BMW or Lexus.
