Strength:

Looks, Comfort. This car looks great in white. I didn't want white at first, but now I wouldn't want anything else.

Weakness:

Doesn't turn very sharp. Would like more acceleration.

I love this car, however, I would like to make it a little faster, and maybe a light tint on the windows. Exellent car. Exellent warrenty & service.

Model Reviewed: 3.0CL-P

Strength:

- Reliable, I haven't had any problems other than the expected stuff
- Stylish and unique
- Decent gas mileage for a sportsy car (~22 city, ~30 hw)
- Comfortable and roomy, especially compared to some of the competition
- Powerful (200hp) and pretty fast acceleration. People have gotten it up to 140mph+, and I can always beat people off the line if need be.

Weakness:

- This model doesn't have a power passenger seat
- Fairly large blind spot
- No rear folding seats (which its brother the Accord Coupe has!)
- No manual, if you're into that

I purchased a used 1997 3.0CL Premium in January 2001 as a certified used car. So far I have nothing but good things to say about this car.

The dealer was very friendly (they even drove from Akron to Columbus in order to close the deal!) and made purchasing this car pretty simple (aside from normal dealer b.s.).

The car is a joy to drive; it is the easiest and most fun car that I have ever driven. You can "feel" the road in this car, but not to the point of discomfort. It is pretty responsive, although the turning radius leaves a little to be desired. It's not as good as the Acura Integra, but still not terrible; I can get into parking spaces and such.

On the outside, the car looks very distinctive in my opinion. There aren't very many of these on the road (I've seen all of 15 driving around), so it certainly stands out with its stylish looks. The rear spoiler actually improves the cars looks, which is a rarity in my opinion -- it's not very obtrusive to rear view either. One note: the gold package (which I have, and plan to remove) does not look good on this car, unless you like a more "pimpin'" ride than I do.

On the inside, the car is very tastefully appointed. There is a little fake wood on the dash, but it is kept to a minimum (which is a good thing in my mind). It's not garish, but adds a touch of class (or fake class?) to the car. The dash is nicely laid out, in the manner of most Hondas and Acuras. The Bose sound system is pretty powerful and sounds excellent for a standard car audio system. There is ample headroom and legroom for front and back seat passengers, although not as spacious as the Acura TL or 4 door Honda Accord. The driver's seat is an 8-way powered seat, which is nice; there's some common trouble with this mechanism that I have yet to sort out though. Additionally, the automatic climate control is the greatest!

Overall I'm very pleased with this car. I got a pretty good price on it, and it has been good to me so far (and I expect this to continue). All of my friends are very impressed with it, and they all want to take turns driving it. We never go anywhere in anyone else's car anymore; it's always in mine.

Mitsubishi Eclipse GT - Very cheap interior, comparable speed.
Mitsubishi Galant GTZ - Comparable interior and speed, but missing some touches.

Model Reviewed: acura 3.0 cl

Strength:

-very luxurious yet handles well with a quick acceleration
-interior is very sophisticated and classy with leather and wood trim
-although not a true speed enthusiasts car, its 7.6 sec 0-60 acceleration is sufficient

Weakness:

-with a 3.0 liter engine, acceleration could be better
-steering gets to be a bit tricky at 90 mph... steering wheel shakes a bit

the 3.0 liter v6 200hp cl is a great sports luxury coupe... the only complaint i have is the acceleration... although it is probably more then sufficient for most drivers... it is a bit slow for the racing enthusiasts out there. overall the quality is excellent and so is the engine

Strength:

I bought the plain cl; not the s version because I wanted a quiet cushy ride. The car is excellent all around. Good stereo, HID headlights, luxury, great engine and tranny, luxo interior. My only complaints aare that the seats are over bolsterd and they squeeze the sides of my torso. I am 5'9" and 160 lbs and am surprised acura made the seats so tight and deep. Also they don't heat the back of the passenger seat and my girlfriend misses the heated seats in my jetta glx which were entirely heated.

Weakness:

overly bolstered seats..to tight on torso...no heat on passengers back

great car for combined sportiness and luxury. The car is beautifully designed and built. Very quiet on the highway and good stereo. Fun to drive but seats could stand some improvement.

seats were more comfy in my 98 accord ex 3.0 coupe and 95 jetta glx. Everything else about the cl is better than the honda and jetta

Strength:

Excellent car overall, great styling (with spoiler).
Very reliable. You surely get the Acura quality and refinement.
Considering the price interior is pretty luxurious, compairing to other cars with the similar price tag.

Weakness:

no 5 speed on v6 models, front seats could get uncomfortable in long drives due to bad lumbar support. rear seat doesn't fold!!!
4 cyl needs more power!!!

I've had this car for over 3 years and had exactly zero problems with it!!!
It's a very good and reliable car, gas milage is not bad (probobly 'cause mine is a stickshift). My biggest complaint was, that v6 came only with automatic, 4 banger (like mine) is just not powerfull enough. Also the front seats are not sport (or bucket), with not enough lumber support, which are pretty lame, considering this is sports coupe!
Other than that. this is a great car, surely worth every penny. Unfortunatly Acura did a pretty sh$$ty job (in my opinion) the new CL, so I will not be getting another, so I'm in line for the MDX.

Best car I have ever owned... reliable... speedy... luxurious... sleeper since it is a new model with the type s... great handling... good get up and go at any speed... GREAT price

All were nice cars... closest speed wise were the BMW 330, Merc. C320, GTP, Maxima... the rest were less than average. The handling was only shown up by the BMW 330, the Maxima and Merc were close, the rest were under Par. The price for what you got was on the money. If there was a formula to determine power, speed, luxury, handling, looks, and of course price the Acura would always beat the aformentioned. Too inexpensive for the BMW, Merc, Lexus, Audi to compete with and too luxurious for the rest to compete with. All around the CS-S is the best value for Luxury and Performance between 20k and 38k

The joints to front wheels are weak. This already be "recall". Problem for head lights. Engine is not match with transmission. Couple of unusual sounds from engine room.

I would recommend this great car. It has powerful V6/V-tech, 200hp engine. Interior is greater than other car which you can buy for same amount. And also hold value, and it has value on it!!!

I am getting married and was supposed to get an SUV for family life. After I saw this car and went for a test drive, I was hooked and bought it on the spot(still in hot water with the fiancee). I have a 00 BMW 328ci and there is no comparison between the cars except for some handling issues. The Acura was purchased in May and has not been in the garage once, whereas the BMW lives there. This car has been nothing but the best sports coupe I have owned and I paid roughly 10K less for the Acura. Also the buying experience was great. I had no problems with the dealer or with the service department. I did not get the Nav system so I can offer no feedback there. I am in sales so I have to transport a lot of people sometimes and the car is not the best in that department but it is a coupe and for a coupe it is not bad.
